We are set on AOBRD at the moment. I have it set to 15 mph and it switches you over.
I don't have a distance setting.
When it converts to an ELD, then it switches at 5 mph. We are planning on that move over Thanksgiving instead of waiting for 12/18 and it automatically happening.

5mph. No time limit that I've noticed. Did a drop & hook off duty. It was hard.

Currently have 1 mile, but if it takes me 20min to move that miles it will jump that time back 20 minutes.

Will all systems automatically switch on 12/18 or does it have to be done by each truck nation wide?

That was irritating. I only worked 2 day though so there’s that.
I don’t like our setup. Not sure why we can’t see the miles we’ve driven for the day. It only shows MPG.
Every time this place makes a change, I become more and more convinced these drivers in these “test groups” are just looking to feel special about something, and don’t actually want to do the friggin job.

Mine is set at 15mph as well, automatically switches to driving, yard move, or PC depending on if I have enabled either yard move or PC. On AOBRD currently.
I can manually move to ELD before the deadline, or let it automatically switch on the deadline date. I’m staying on AOBRD until the last day it’s available. I will double check on the deadline date to make sure it indeed changed, and if not, make the change then, but it should be automatic with Keeptruckin.

12/17/19 is the end of the grace period for people that were running an AOBRD system.
It was explained to me that all providers will automatically be switching it to ELD regs on 12/18/19.

Is that app only or is it app+ talking to the truck? I'm wondering in case I use the ram to hotshot. It's an '18 so I'd be on eld.

We are only able to use yard move at our distribution centers and at vendors that have a fence with no public access. We can’t use it at our stores because it’s open to the public.

If we set up geofences, we could too. But I don't want to take that much time or effort.

That's where we're at too..
That's part of the change that as part and parcel of of moving from ABORD to ELD rules. ELD rules are a lot more restrictive.
1. Any time you start moving, when the ELD switches you to the drive line that drive time starts when you first started in motion. Some ABORDs will just switch lines when the parameters are exceeded.
2. If you stop before the switch to the drive line (like pulling forward in the fuel island) and pull the brake handle, you must wait 5 minutes before the software counter resets itself. If you resume motion before then, the drive time starts when you first moved. Stopping with just the service brakes applied won't count towards resetting it.
3. Breaks are calculated to the second. If you stopped at 10:00:45 for a 30 minute break, starting at 10:30:05 won't count. You're 40 seconds short.
Its mostly about how an ELD reacts to starting motion. It can produce some unpleasant surprises.
