Driver's Retirement Thread

(shrimp from asia is mostly farm raised & often fed with human sewage. So you gotta look at the label to see where it comes from)
Gee, thanks. I eat shrimp by the pound. I love it all kinds of ways. Now, I'm going to have this in the back of my mind while I'm munching away!

I bet most of the shrimp where you live is from the USA.

Gulf shrimp isn't hard to find around here and it's only like 1¢ more than the Asian import.

I looked into farm raising fish using a swimming pool once. Decided it's too much trouble. 😅

How many here are finally retired from the transportation sector?
What do you do to fill your time? Chase your dreams? Spend time with your family? Work on your hobbies?

I just passed the 1 year anniversary of retirement. To be honest, I miss the work and I miss the camaraderie I had with a few of the higher volume close customers. However, it's the driving among the public that I don't miss in any way, shape or form. I honestly think there are a lot of people out there who get out of bed every morning with the thought that they want to make as many people miserable in the course of the day as they can. Truck drivers are the number one target as soon as they get in their cars for some reason. Even truck drivers go out of their way to make your job harder and they're doing the same thing.

I enjoy household projects within my abilities, my classic car, spending time with the wife and dog that I missed doing when working the long hours and at night. Neither one of us are travelers and neither have any family left to speak of, so we are quite content floating around in the pool chattering and enjoying the cocktail choice of the day.

I do have a couple of car events planned for the next few years. I just hope the world is still here to get to do them and they will be affordable by then. If I never get into another truck again, it'll be too soon!
I never "Retired".

Just need some quick ca$h I go back in and out of it.

Today I dunno if I can even do it anymore "Realistically"

People today alot crazier or playing on the phone not even watching the road.

And theres 2/3 times as many of em out there traffic gone insane since I first started.

I like $5 dollar Gas Prices some years ago it kept people off the roads unless they had buisness out there.

Cheap gas means alot more "Morons" out there too

We dont have to spend 2/3 Trillion upgrading our highways

$5 a gallon gas will gut traffic demand and still $3/4 bucks "Cheaper" than Europe Taxes to boot.

Okay $5 bucks a gallon gonna Co$t ya something so ya better make all ya trips in a route get everything done.

Ya stupid punks with boom boom Rap Music and racing mufflers on a Honda or Toyota.

Ya gonna have to $ell your Wheels and Boom Boom Stereo at $5/$6 dollars a Gallon fill ya Gas Tank.

My "Heart" BLEEDS 4 ya too pal

But let me make this clear "Electric Cars" cannot work period in "current" forum

We dont have the Grid nor Technology to facilitate such it does not even exist yet

Maybe 25/50 years down the road we aqquirre such capabilities & infrastructure.

$5/$6 dollars the Real Price of Fuel the excess rebuild highways and keep morons off the roadways because they cant afford fillup the gas tank

I'd be scared to death to get on any of those contraptions any more. The days of making sure things like this are safe for the public are gone just like a real truck driver. There are too many news reports of injuries and deaths due to simple lack of maintenance of this equipment.

One thing to remember, any body of fresh water in Florida has the potential to have gators living in it. Just keep your wits about you when wandering around. At night, if you see red eyes, it's sure to be a gator. Frogs will have bright green eyes. Bright LED lights light up eyes the best.
Do ya know acual "Alligators" been "Appointed" ICE AGENTS this very point and time..
