Driver-Facing Cameras — Would You Quit Over One?

I made a special place that is hidden in my pick-up for when I do have to uncarry it. I don't want to chance leaving it in the glovebox or console. Like you say, doctor, courthouse, etc... I regularly carry a small .380 and made the hidden space big enough for my .357 with the 6" barrel. I like the slim line of the automatic, but nothing beats a revolver for security.

And I hear that more and more companies are disabling their inward cameras due to lawsuits and whatnots.
They never said anything to me about it though.
Did you ever have a incident where they could have used that against you?

I don't have a problem with a camera being on me. I have a problem with the micromanagers with access to them.

It's like being with a trainer in the passenger seat. I'm a lot more nervous with them there than I am otherwise.
Welp take that to the Federal Government and "DOT"..

Time was used have very powerful "Unions" who would "Strike".

Technology has also changed drastically ya own in your pocket has something like a "Million" times the Computer Power the Space Shuttle landing on the "Moon"

Younger under 30/40 dont even remeber a life before computers and smart-phones.

Alotta schools dont even teach "Cursive" Writing anymore but to sign a "Check" requires ya "Signature" although most place "Direct-Deposit" nowadays

Yeah that blew my mind when I first heard that. And they will actually pay you to read and transcribe cursive writing online.

But back to the cameras, yeah they're becoming ubiquitous for CDL drivers period.

Most companies ours included will tell they are not meant to micro manage you as EC said but for your protection.

Which of course they have to say that, bur for the most part I think as long as you don't damage anything or cause others to potentially damage something your good.

Micro-Management eh they really put the screwes to me I say this my last run get me something towards home yard I will pack up my stuff and officially quit..

50/50 "chance" if ya proven yourself your Driver Manager/Dispatcher say we like the job ya doing how about a "Nickle" per a mile "Raise" Ill take the heat off ya too just "Drive Safe" make ya appointments

The other more computerized and corporate kinda companies tell ya screw off those the ones make ya down load an app every other day training and safety videos and quizes on video.

Screw em if nobody applied and the rest quit over "Harrasment" they aint got no "Drivers"

The issue isn't safety, it's the inaccurate feedback loop, like yelling when checking mirrors. If the AI system is poorly calibrated and constantly generates false alerts, it creates a toxic work environment and damages trust. I'd absolutely quit if the system wasn't fixed quickly, as the constant surveillance and false warnings create unnecessary stress.
