Does pineapple belong on pizza? (poll) and other food controversies

i got an excerpt from one site:

But conspiratorial tales, when not grounded in strong evidence, can pose a real danger to our ability to make good public health policies and understand how science actually works. Stories about clandestine payoffs and corporate cover-ups by definition suggest that some scandalous truth was being hidden (e.g., sugar is the real devil, not fat!). The act of uncovering apparent greedy meddling can provide a powerful stimulant to action (e.g., the sugar industry tricked us—we won’t get fooled again!).

The Made-Up Story About How Big Sugar Shifted the Blame to Fat

I don't think "they" shifted "blame" as much as the sugar industry used the argument being made in medicine that all fats were the root cause of coronary disease to position their products as part of the replacement for fats in prepared foods.

As much as 100% fat free food was pushed starting 40 years ago, you'd think we'd be living a million years now. Instead, we now have an epidemic of diabetes, as well as coronary disease - and the rates of occurrence of coronary disease haven't improved.

Chuck the sugar... eat bacon!

The Shady History of Big Sugar

Big Sugar Vs Your Body

Google "big sugar" - there's quite a bit of documentation on the sugar industries effort to get sweeteners into as much prepared foods as possible.

After someone eats sugar and their brain activity is mapped, the activity totally lights the brain up. That kind of response doesn't even happen when alcohol is consumed, or heroin is injected. We seriously crave sugar. Thus the connection between the sugar and processed food industries.

There are also studies that show wheat products (dough, breads etc...) have the same type of effect on the brain. The wheat we consume now is nothing like the wheat of just 50 years ago and doesn’t even resemble the wheat of its origin. You can still buy the old style wheat but it’s expensive. “Wheat Belly” is a good book to read on modern day wheat and some of its possible harmful effects.

A quick Google search and I found this.
5 Ways Modern Wheat is Different than Biblical Wheat

From the article:
When compared with strains of wheat that are centuries old, modern wheat has many more gluten proteins because all the hybridization that has taken place.1 Many of these brand new gluten proteins are associated with today’s gluten sensitivities, such as celiac disease. In the last 50 years, there has been a 400% increase in the prevalence of celiac disease. Gluten allergies are also much more common now than 50 years ago.

Pan-seared rock fish seasoned with only salt and pepper, cilantro and pico de gallo in small corn tortillas with lemon or lime wedges on the side to squeeze over them. Anybody who uses fish sticks in fish tacos is a heretical miscreant and should be hung.

I like fish.
I also like tacos.

So why not put them together?

Same reason I don't mix cottage cheese and grape juice.

Same reason why I don't put maple syrup on my scrambled eggs.

Or tomatoes in ice cream.

Have not all of you figured out by now....We nothing but a bunch of cave Dewellers everything from our processed foods, to our structures, to our clothing, to the soft ware use,to moonshine, to the do it yourself process.......At the end of it all a six foot plot that nontaxable. Maple syrup is the reason why the "McGriddles" is the most disgusting breakfast sammich on earth.

It's for pancakes, french toast, waffles, and oatmeal.

Put it on anything else and you should go to jail.
Yeah but isn't the McGriddle bun basically a thick pancake?
