Does pineapple belong on pizza? (poll) and other food controversies

So what, you can't put walnuts in lasagna now?
Yes but you can't call it lasagna.
Egg nog in shepherds pie?
I've never eaten shepherds pie, don't really know what it is. Hopeful doesn't involve cannibalism or dog meat.
Oranges in with your beef roast?
Yes but you can't call it beef roast. You'll have to call it orange beef roast. Or go to jail.
Hamburger in mac n cheese?
No. Just..... no.
Sauerkraut on roller dogs?
Only if you're German.
What are you some kinda leftist commie prink?
Actually I'm a radical right wing nationalist. :usflag:

My mom ground up leftover roast beef to make shepherds pie...

Shepherd's pie or cottage pie is a meat pie with a crust of mashed potato. The recipe can vary widely. The defining ingredients are minced meat, typically cooked in a gravy with onions and sometimes other vegetables, such as peas, celery or carrots. Wikipedia

i ain't had that in a while. my mother would add corn, peas as well.

Sandy made Sheppard’s pie last week. First time she made it, first time I ever had it. It was ok. Not even close to top of list but I’d eat it again.
Shepherd pie in our neck of the woods is a meatloaf covered in mashed potatoes and then corn pressed into the mashed potatoes. I will not eat the stuff.
thing is this, there is just so much we eat, day in and day out. i personally need some variety, and not the same foods all the time. we do not eat high dollar steaks, ribs, etc. we eat plain simple foods. even if we "go out" to dinner, it's something close to what we have at home, INEXPENSIVE.

i will most likely have a shepards pie in the future, (i already planted that seed earlier today now) but will not have it again for a while after that.

When I eat out I get something that I'm too lazy to cook at home.

Get that pineapple out of my AO and off my planet

Something that should never, ever be put on pizza: Barbecue sauce. The bottle shouldn't even be placed on the same countertop. In fact, before wrapping that pizza up and putting it in the fridge, throw away any opened, unfinished bottles of BBQ sauce inside. Hell, throw away all the BBQ sauce in the house, opened or not. BBQ sauce should never be anywhere on the same block as pizza. And whoever came up with that needs to be shot. If he's already dead, dig him up and shoot him.
Don't hold back. Tell them how you feel.

I accidentally discovered that if you mix ketchup and BBQ sauce about 50/50, you have sloppy Joe sauce that's better than Manwich. Put it on pre-cooked ground sirloin and there you go.

You're an odd duck.

Putting walnuts in lasagna it's still lasagna.

Like if you make bread, and add cinnamon n raisins, it's still bread. It's just not white bread.

Aren't you from some weird place like California, where they think a complete meal involves vegetables, tofu and seeds? Because that ain't shepherd's pie.

Make a meat compote with mushrooms, onions and a thick, rich sauce. Throw in a few vegetables and cook until hot and veggies are done. Put this into a baking dish of some kind, I like to use bread pans, and cover with a 1" layer of mashed potatoes. Bake at 350°F until the top is golden brown. You can sprinkle parmesan cheese or bread crumbs on top before baking if you feel like it. I prefer just the smashed taters, seasoned correctly with salt, pepper and butter.

I have no idea what to call that abomination you described. It sounds absolutely disgusting. But it ain't shepherd's pie.
