Nevermind I found the answer... Typical for jb.... Long hours, little pay
I cant speak for their operation, but delivery like this has always been long long hours.
I delivered for Montgomery Ward a long time ago, via a company called American Delivery Service (they handled all of their deliveries).
I was paid for every mile the truck ran, pay for each stop, pay for each piece delivered, payed for stove hookups, water line hookups, door or window removals to get furniture/appliances in the house, etc...
Had a helper that was paid hourly. The good ones, you would buy their lunch and snacks all day long, that way they would do their best to stay on your truck. A good one could handle the maps, knew how to handle furniture and appliances, made your customer calls for you.
6:00am, we would be unboxing furniture, pad wrapping and strapping it into the trailers, might not be back until after 10:00pm, sometimes later when you had to go out and rescue a driver that sucked at his job (or had a new helper from a temp service)
I'm sure JB pays less now then what i made doing it decades ago.....
