Well here we go, start warming up your guns and shooting at me.
#1 Best Coffee - Almost any of the medium/dark roast varieties by Door County Coffee & Tea but unless you live in Northeast Wisconsin the only option is mail order. When I lived there we would drive up to Door County every Saturday morning and pick up a pound fresh out of the roaster and still hot.
#2 Starbucks Pike Place roast - whole bean ground just as I press it.
#3 Seattles Best #4 (Actually all Seattles Best is just a lower priced Starbucks, same company, same beans, different label and grind) but unfortunatlety its almost impossible to find in whole bean and the grind is way to fine for a french press.
#4 All the above that I press in the truck every morning for my 1 cup of coffee.
#5 Pilot coffee as long as they have actually cleaned the pot in the last month but that doesn't seem to happen much any more.
I refuse to drink coffee anywhere that has the giant urns that run a gallon of water through a spigot across a half pound of cheap ass foodservce sh*t that has been sitting in a paper filter for a week. The urns never get cleaned, they just keep adding coffee then dumping it into pots and serving it as fresh coffee. I like coffee to taste like coffee not bleached paper.
McDonalds coffee is swill. I have tried it several times and quite frankly it's almost as awful as Denny's burnt chicory root infested crap they keep sitting all around the resturants. (Same crap J used to sell that tasted like a wood stir stick)
But coffee is like whisky, some like this, some like that and some are alcoholics and will drink anything. Well I'm a coffeeaholic and have been sice I started sitting at the round table with my dads coffee group every morning at the age of 8.
