I know right? The other morning I turned my lights of so fuck nuts could back in as a courtesy.
Do you think Brampton would do the same for me when I was backing in? The answer is fuck no!
It used to be common practice to shut your headlights when a driver was backing in, just leave the marker lights on. Not so common anymore.
Back in the day, we used to kill the lights as soon as you turned in the driveway. But that was long ago, and with the current trend (driven by automatics, imho) of 30 mph parking lot speeds, I keep mine on until I'm backing in (unless they're off when someone else is backing in.)

I kill the headlights but can't do shit about those automatic DRLs. They don't go off till you pull the mustard knob.
First thing I did when I got in this Star was lookup how to kill the DRLs. Snip two wires and done.

I've heard 3 different stories how it can be done on mine without snipping anything but it hasn't bothered me quite enough to investigate. I'm at most deliveries by myself and I sleep at a lot of greenhouses so.....

I wish nobody would do that.
It's in the body builder manuals. I was able to get one of the wires out of the plug, didn't have anything small enough to release the other, so Snip. Both were right behind the speedometer.

Lets face it, it is pretty offensive!

Everyone is looking at the fat guy walking across the parking lot, everyone thinks it's coming from him and no one is paying attention to the truck that is actually backing up.
Lady's in the grocery store with her 6 year old little girl. They are following a large woman who is wearing black and yellow, when someone's beeper goes off.

Anybody ever been to the Blue Water Thermal plant in Melrose Park, IL.
You back in this black hole thats very tight, you have to back in at a 45 degree angle right next to another truck.
No less than a half dozen times I have had to honk my air to prevent another backing semi from taking my mirror off.

Lol I'm there. I actually put a new beeper in mine because I thought the old one was getting weak.
The alarm Cottrell puts on our overlift is louder than a backup alarm. It's 'mounted' behind the switch panel.
1st day: stuffed it full of rags and wrapped it in electrical tape.
2nd day: still too freaking loud, unplugged and rigged up warning light.
I'm usually lifted backing in, and it was too loud to think in here!

My backup alarm is mounted back on the rear of the frame where it only bothers other people like @Rigjockey.
