Now that it is here, it will be interesting to see how those affected react and how everyone is affected.

Even if you don't cross the border, you are going to be affected by this to some extent. some positive, some negative. Overall, I think it will be a net negative. As owner operators, we will likely see overall rates pushed higher. As company drivers, we will continue to see companies out raising pay. As consumers, everything just got a little more expensive and a little harder to get.

I don't follow grocery prices like some people do. I've always been the well I need to eat so I'm buying it type of person. But I feel like I'm paying twice what I paid a couple years ago for the same products at Aldi.

Eg I can spend $100 now without trying and I'm not going nuts. I'm pretty sure this same stuff was 50 bucks a couple years ago.
 
Our supply chains a very integrated especially since JIT became a thing. Stuff comes in one side of the building and out the other.
I know Americans don't give the northern border very much thought just as Canadians don't give Mexico much thought. They should because produce comes up from Mexico and further south via Mexico and the U.S. Borders.

Both of the borders are very important in terms of food, auto parts, and all sorts of things.

My company deals in if it fits it ships. They have terminals in Syracuse, Chicago and a bunch of other places.

Now if we are talking what the plant I shunt for they are into health and beauty products.
Some of the liquids come from out of Chicago. Some bottles and labels are from the U.S. I know one vendor is from your area, Mountain top , PA.

Gotcha. I pulled a load of anthracite out of Mountain Top once.
 
I am fully vaxxed and able to cross the border. I am not going to capitalize on this situation. Just let the chips fall where they may. Maybe attitudes towards truckers may change.

Back in the day I used to argue with this woman on FB. She would say Amazon can deliver by drone.
Sure, Amazon could deliver by drone, one piece at a time. But how does the shit get to Amazon?
Can Amazon drones deliver a 40,000 pound load of brake pads to GM or Ford or Anyone? I don't think so!

I have a magic fridge. Everytime I open it, food is in there. I don't put it in there, so it must be magic. I don't need no stinkin trucks to keep my house fed.
