Air line fittings, what do you carry and why

I JUST bought this today from another driver. I used to have a fishing tackle box with brass fittings in it. I also used to have spare airline on the truck.

I ran over the tackle box once.

It was stolen or fell off the truck shortly after it was replaced

The replacement was kind of split up into two or three tackle boxes and left at the shop. I’ve NEVER needed to fix an airline on the road yet.

Now, since I’ve said something, I’ll blow an airline next week and need to fix it

It’s ridiculous how many bushings, plugs, 45s, 90s, straights, tees, etc you need just to fix simple stuff

What’s y’all carry for brass fittings on the truck?

I have used those Lowes plastic push together fittings a lot
abuddy from Alabama called the "Flying Splices"
says they are illegal according to the cops but they saved my butt many times
I do have some brass push together fittings I carry
usually 1/4 inch and 3/8 inch but I do have a few 1/2,I don`t carry anything for brake lines etc,just a few feet 1/4 and 3/8 air line for those that want to pop every now and then
I carry 5 or 10 spares,and they got me back on the road many times

I carry the number for road repair and they send someone out to fix it. Geez why don’t you just get a road repair department so you don’t have to carry all that junk.

I had a air line leaking on a new ****sucking rolltite. The line was actually loose enough to move in and out by hand

Not my wagon n it was raining pretty good...took it to our shop to have them fix it while I stayed indoors. Someone ELSE can go lay on their back on cardboard in mud

Don't know how to introduce this situation- so, I was going from Dumas to Tulsa late one night, it was cold, snowing and roads icing over- somewhere ( I don't remember exactly) I had to stop and get rid of some coffee- I did my business, set in the seat, hit the brake switch and nothing! Ruh-roh. I got out and went looking- seems the trailer brake line had accumulated enough ice to start dragging- called dispatch and they found some poor guy hungry enough to come fix it. He just cut it and spliced with a new double ended fitting- by the time I got to Tulsa I was probably 15k over weight from ice build up- decided I wasn't doing that anymore.

Had an air line spring hanger break - air line dragged for a bit. Anywho... it's leaking. Got a small wad of duct tape, and placed that over the hole. Duct taped the heck out of it... and proceeded to where I could get it fixed.

Don't need no stinkin' mobile parts room in the truck. Duct tape fixes everything except ducts... fer awhile.
