A Heavy Haulin' Grocery Hauler Goes Tanker Yankin'?!

$15,000!
That's what fucking up and pulling the handle on a gas pocket that your dumb ass had connected to a diesel tank costs.
Brought the flash point down too low and we hadda sell it for pennies on the dollar to some outfit that uses it for........something.:dunno:

The real expensive part is paying another carrier to haul it off cuz now it's hazardous waste and we licensed for that nonsense.

Dude's a decent enough guy who just had a fuck up and I been trying real hard not to clown him for it.
To quote Tanner Howard "it's been difficult".

Told him to come see me with his checkbook next year at bonus time.....

Should dilute it with some 115/145 if there's any around -- might be all gone and no longer made -- one of my favorite trips was hauling 115/145 from Ozol (by Martinez, CA to the Top Gun place at Fallon. But I digress.

After it's mixed you sell new and exciting fuel as high octane. When someone snivels about the smoke from their Toyota, just tell 'em you stuck an extra bunch of upper lube or Marvel Mystery oil into it. You gotta use your imagination.

DOUBLE HANDSOME GAS HAULER INVOLVED IN HEAD ON COLLISION RESULTING IN FATALITY

That was very nearly the headline Sunday morning.

I'm on a 2 lane in a 35mph zone heading west when Mr. Harley Rider is rounding the bend heading east and he's easy 3 feet into my lane, traveling at........a speed WAY above his skill set.

Easyrider's got a solid 2 degrees of lean angle dialed in and his right leg off the peg flat track style (I guess hitting a semi head on wasn't enough, he wanted to make sure he died with a broken leg :dunno:) he woulda been better off using that that foot on the rear brake to tighten up his line.

Now folks I don't know your policy in a shituation like this, but, when I come across something in my lane, be it a deer, the family pooch or a helmetless wonder, I will not execute any evasive action that will jeopardize my breathing habit. I will apply the brakes but I ain't rolling this truck to save your dumb ass.
You got yourself in to this and you can get yourself out of it.

Luckily for him Harley boy made it past me without getting all Busey'ed up.

Dude was fairly old looking (50's), to have survived this long demonstrating this type of stupidity on 2 wheels.

I’ve often thought the bumper sticker doesn’t complete the thought.

“Watch for motorcycles.”

I think it should have a sub line; “cuz half of them can’t ride for shit!”

No it's because we get nervous when we're going 75 in a 55 and still being tailgated. 😡

There's not paying attention and then there's no attention fucks to give.

This story is about the ladder. (sic)

So buddy rolls in to the station and gets everything ready to go........puts the elbow on the diesel tank and runs the hose to the trailer and hooks it to........the premium.
Pulls the handle, opens the internal and drops THE WHOLE F**K**G POCKET of prem in the ulsd.

I really can't stress enough how this should never happen and if it does it was 100% preventable.
The product indicator on the trlr is color matched to the covers on the tanks.
white/reg
prem/red
ulsd/yellow
Simply use the hose to connect the colors. 3rd grade level of difficulty.

But human beings are fallible and mistakes do happen, but what this dude did next defies explanation.
Not only did he let the whole damn pocket drain (usually when one contaminates they tend to catch it right after they open the internal and turn around facing the fills. It's too late, but 100 gals is better than 1000 gals in the wrong tank) He then drains the hose, closes the handle, takes the elbow off the ulsd tank and moves it to (don't get ahead of me now) the prem tank. Walks over to the trlr and moves the 6x4 to the.........ulsd pocket.
Pulls the handle, opens the internal and continues not giving any attention f*cks!

This maternal fornicator is the Ernie Banks of cross droppers!

Dude is fairly new and seems to be a nice kid but damn..........you stupid.
Far as I know he's just got 3 days off.
Company won't fire you for cross dropping, but doing 2 at the same drop?!!
Idk.....kid might get axed.

More than one account we lost due to morons going and offloading product into the wrong tanks. Never understood how this could happen. didn't have color coded tanks, but the tanks were always clearly marked with the name of the product.

Wow that is stunning!:(

A buddy of mine used to haul fuel. He only dropped in one wrong tank. Sure, shit happens. people make mistakes.
The only thing was he didn't tell anybody about it. He got fired not for making a mistake but, because he left and didn't say anything.
Apparently it cost a fortune after the fact. It would have cost significantly less if he had stopped everything and admitted to what happened.
I am sure they would have just shut the pumps to that tank and would have to drain it.

Yeah think of all the lawsuits from damaged engines. Unless it was just an octane switch in which case it doesn't really hurt.

It's always the cover up that bites you in the ass.
