A Heavy Haulin' Grocery Hauler Goes Tanker Yankin'?!

Keendriver

Hates all of you
That's right B*tches....

I am now a gas hauler.:taunt:

Well, an in training gas hauler.

Just completed my first week with a trainer and I ain't caused any explosions.

I'd say that qualifies as a success!

A buddy of mine that worked with me pulling tampons and such quit about 4 months ago to come over to this outfit pulling a tanker. We would talk most days and he kept telling me how good this gig was and........I just had to find out fer myself.

He wasn't wrong. Great outfit, they treat the drivers veddy well.
I'm actually looking at this as being the job I retire from.

First one with an old guy joke can tongue bathe the post coital balloon knot of the nearest Elton John fan.

So now I know about Scully systems, vapor hoses and the importance of NOT dropping Reg into the Premium tank.
Apparently one of the drivers here did not follow procedure as he shoulda and........well, I got to go help pump that outta the ground.
Big fun!

Congrats on the new gig.
Make sure you get carded at every possible terminal.
I pulled tankers for 11 years in a previous life.
Not a bad job,but then again, anything is better then hauling TP..LOL

Carded at one rack......well, I can get in, I just can't load yet.
At the other rack I can load, I just ain't carded yet.

The tanker yankin worls has really gone downhill since I left.

I mean, congrats on the new job!
Bite me!

And thanks.

When I was looking at leaving ATS one of the places I looked at was a local gasoline hauling company near me. They guy was really interested in getting new drivers and had very positive things to say...like..."You can work as much as you want...get all the hours in you want...it's all hourly. we go to gas stations all over Up North here...basically every gas station north of Stevens Point. Pretty much run 24/7."

"Interesting."

"Yup, everyone here loves their job. We have very few people quit. Starting pay is 12.50 an hour. "

12.50 a freaking hour to haul hazmat gas around Wisconsin...on snowy ass roads up north 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Yeah...no.

I'm still considering tankering as a plan B from this place though.

Holy sh*t that's no money!
I woulda passed too.

Meanwhile, back to me and my awesome new job....

4 day work week with a 5th available.

10 hr shifts, if you get done in less you still get yer 10, if more you get paid for it.

Bought me a pair of Red Wing boots before I had done a days worth of work.

Started 12/28 and as of 1/1 I've got a weeks vacation.

Basically everything I've seen here makes me glad I came to work here.
