2013 Peterbilt 587 Last 8 vin# 185213 / PACCAR motor

My company bought 4 of these in 2013, all with PACCAR motors and a few years later after I came back to work for them these 4 trucks have been deleted. That's just for history info. 3yrs ago I came back to work for them I was driving one of them, I'll call it #1. It had around 850,000 miles on it. While going down the road and I'd give it more acceleration, like to climb hill or pass someone the motor would start vibrating badly. I'd let off the acceleration and it would quit. Then back on acceleration and it'd be worse. I'd lightly start accelerating and, maybe it would smooth out or I'd have to wait until the motor would plain out then I could take on off.

Motor goes bad on the truck so they put a motor out of the wrecked #4 truck in it. Same issue but then it started having more and worse issues so they put me into the #2 truck.

#2 truck has around 950,000 miles on it and at first, everything is fine except it has no power. Then a few months ago it started doing the same thing with that bad accelerating vibration.

Now I'm in #3 truck with 710,000 miles and it does this the worst.

All 3 trucks will be full of codes and not the first code is more consistent than any others.

Any ideas that I can pass along to our baffled shop mechanics would be appreciated, thanks

First issue is the delete.

Since they've been deleted, ECM diagnostic time is pretty limited to whomever did the delete.

Since it's doing it on all trucks. It put it that something in the delete failed and now the engine has a stutter.

If you have all the emissions, I've seen guys reinstall the system and go back to OEM. But that's likely to never happen because of people's position with emissions.

They've pretty much limited their ability to get help.

That's been my thinking as well but they've been hard headed about this since it's not been like this all along. The trucks didn't start doing this from the beginning. The trucks have been deleted about 4 yrs now. #2 just started this maybe 3 or 4 months now. The other two have done it as long as I've been in them. The other drivers that have drove them are no longer with the company so I can't ask them anything. Could be why they are not here anymore.
But the common denominator is the delete and paccar. The other 3 trucks that have been deleted are 386's with Cummins

Kinda like a Fitzgerald reman.

They are absolutely known for their reputation for good fuel mileage.

But everyone who buys one, has an in-frame by 400,000 miles because it burns itself up.

The issues don't show up for several years.

I'd get some references for others that have run that delete and then go from there.
