2 Speed Rear End

So I like big tuned Cat motors,Long Hoods and mpg and I might have found a way to help bring those 3 together. A 2 speed rear end with 3.08s and 3.70s. With 3.08s at 1300 rpm I am a little over 70 mph,but you don't have much hill pulling power with 3.08s. 3.70s at 1500 puts you at 70 mph but with plenty of power. So that leads to my question of, Who makes heavy duty 2 speed rear ends anymore ? I know of someone who did it to a W900 Glider awhile back so I know it's possible. I have heard from some glider companys that most gliders were getting 6.5 to 7 mpg with Cat C15s that were geared to run at 1325 rpm at cruise speed.

I decided for the sake of my mental health,to try to ride as many negative people from my life as possible. I don't need some self called "Internet Terrorist" to dog me down.

I've read about people who have them and like them. I guess just another thing I'll just have to find out for myself.
A taller rear end is not inherently worse the climbing kills than a lower geared rear, it's all about the overall gear ratio.

A set of 3.70 in high gear is effectively a 2.70 overall gear reduction. A truck with 3.25 only has to split down to have better pulling power. That truck in 8L, is effectively a 2.80 overall ratio, which will out pull those 3.70 as long as the 3.25 truck stays half a split ahead of the other one
