Why did you become a trucker?

The Airports I worked at did not allow a throttled engine while the aircraft was stationary only the APU.
Worked at COS, SAN, IAD.
They still need to be pushed off the gate and taxi to the gate, Unless you are working on private jets, Even then the latter still stands.

I do miss the md80 and the Faulker F100 I used to work with.. but of course wing mounted engines perform better, more stopping power and get better mileage.
I used to work on those when I was on the U.S.Air bid. So many Faulker jokes and that was way before the movie meet the Fockers. LOL

Geronimo are you talking about my comments pissed you off? I'm confused why??

Watti411...in the absence of a response from you I went back over previous posts to see if I could find the offending remarks you appear to think I directed at you...1st, if you check your original post you will find I was one of 2 Members to give you a "Like" so why would I make Negative comments after...

I also went back over my comments in this Thread and found only one post containing the wording you remarked on...If you take a look at the top of that particular Post you will see it was addressed to "Mammoth Transport" and not to you...hope this clears up any misunderstandings...

Excuse me if I deal with the original question . . . .

I was a driver in the 80s and loved it. But, I always thought that I would go to college and get a white-collar job. So, after owning my own business that I gave up in a divorce, then 18 years hating being a teacher, I returned.

Love driving. More respect than I ever received as a teacher.

personally i allways wanted to drive a truck... as a child i saw a tv show called "Auf Achse" it was about 2 truckers and their adventures drive through middle east, africa and south europe that what fired me up to this... ok since that times have changed.... heavy traffic, limited run-times, getting called even in the middle of nowhere but one thing didnt changed: you are alone (me with my doggy) nobody tells you how to do this or that, you wont get rich but i still like it :D
