What would you do?

So there’s an old out of business restaurant on I-45 on the mainland about 20 minutes away from my house in Galveston. I drive by it quite a bit. Couple weeks ago I noticed a USA Truck parked there. Didn’t think anything of it. But a week goes by and I still see it, another week goes by and it’s still there. So I’m thinking this is way too long for normal home time. But if it’s abandoned wouldn’t the company of picked it up by now?

So what would you do ?

1) Call Police

2) Call USA Truck

3) Do Nothing

I keep going back in forth so I thought I’d come here for advice. I did snap a pic.

i have called/emailed the trucking companies a few times, when i saw trucks/trailers sitting on a service road, near my house.

most times, if it's an email, i get a "thank you" response, if it was a phone call, i was thanked as well.

A company that big you would think they would be able to ping the truck and see right where it is unless they have so many they don’t know it’s missing.

There’s a Melton truck that’s been parked where I take my weekends off in Hendersonville NC since.... gee... at least January. Maybe even last year.

gonna be that much of a chore for you to call or email..??

It’s been MONTHS.

When you die it tends to SMELL.

Years ago,companies had signs on the trucks.
"If this truck hasn't moved in 24 hours,please call us."
But this was before GPS tracking.

they still have them along with “check sleeper in case of emergency”

You know I’ve seen GPS fail many times. Even some drivers could disconnect it and then abandon the truck out of spite.

I’m thinking out of an abundance of caution I’ll call Galveston County Police just in the off chance a guy parked it for the night and had a heart attack. This particular company doesn’t have a great reputation for being well run.

Put a 2" rock on top of an inner trailer tire.
Next week if the rock is still on the tire, call the company.

Thats a good idea. But not necessary here because I know the truck was parked in exactly the same spot and with the window covered in the exact same manner. I have a pretty good memory for details.

I have no doubt that whoever parked it is either long gone or dead inside. Probably the former. Hopefully not the later.

Yeah just something big enough the wind won't blow it off, but small enough it's not going to f* up the truck if he doesn't catch it on his pre-trip.

well, if that driver, was a former Werner or Swift, or Amazon Prime driver, i'd say it's too late for "f"ing up that truck...
