What’s your daily driver and project vehicles?

Interior shot of our new Sportage. Its just like the last one we had, but on steroids. Larger engine, 4WD, cruise control, etc.

Dealer detailed the car too, so it was nice to drive a shiney car this weekend while everyone elses car had a foot of snow on it. Lol

Weight distribution hitch is to compensate for soft springs or too much tongue weight.
Nose cone and truck caps improve aerodynamics.
Then I say those items are superfluous. Buy enough truck to do the job. Who cares about fuel mileage

Like short boxes. They should be illegal. 8' only

Next up mini vans, Prius and smart cars :order:

Yup this. And weight distribution hitches can have sway control bars that help keep the entire rig in a straight line when a gust of wind nails it from the side.

A cap on a pickup is like a roof fairing on a flat top 18 wheeler. It gets the pickup closer to the height of the trailer so the air flows over the whole thing rather than over the truck roof, down along the bed, and straight into the big flat front of the trailer. It also acts like side fairings, closing the gap between truck and trailer. If you get a tall cap, even better.

I'm still debating on whether to get a tall Leer. They're $$ but they can be body color matched and to me look the sharpest with some of the best aero benefits.

I'm paying for the fuel so I do. Wind is wind. You can have a lot of truck and still be affected by it. Aero improvements improve ride and reduce stress. Definitely not superfluous.

Also, length of the bed doesn't matter. It's wheelbase.

Exactly. Crew cab long box. Or a crew cab cab n chassis as long as you can get
Real men don't own short box kind of trucks. Unless that's their grocery getter. I could see that. Crew cab diesel long box F350 work truck and a crew cab gasser short box F250 as a grocery getter. An F550 crew cab cab n chassis as a work truck be that much cooler

Cool don't care 'bout fuel mileage

It's easy to spend other peoples' money.

I accept. Fuel economy be damned. The F-350 dually needs to be a 2015 or newer though with under 15,000 miles. XLT or higher trim. I'm not picky otherwise.

Thanks!
Nah go F550. You can axle more weight that way

Well I'm clean. Trucks clean. Big horse has fuel and mule got fed. Time to fake a pretrip and ride.

If you can't put a full size sheet of plywood in the bed and close the tailgate, it's not a real truck. It's a grocery hauler.

If I hadn't seen it with my own too peepers I'd call ya a liar:

They make a carpet insert for you bed in the truck, that carpets the floor and walls. Like a box liner, but carpet :confused-96: Buddy opened his tonneau cover, put plastic down to protect the carpet, then loaded lumber :panic:

I was flabbergasted :stare1:

Bed length does matter when its a work truck.

My first task for my F150 was to haul a dining room set including a hutch and curio cabinet. Fit everything on the bed with one trip. Try that with a shorter 6' bed.

Indeed it is. And with a ramp door, it beats the heck out of trying to load a truck bed.

Do those cables assist in closing the door? It's gotta be a heavy door if it's strong enough to drive a car on.

The door on my dad's airplane trailer is like that but has nothing to help lift it up. It's too heavy for him because he's getting old.

Yeah it's a pretty heavy door. I honestly don't think I could lift it without the assist. It's really not even what I would call easy with the assist.
