A friend of our's a driver has a home he has been buying for 14 years now. Never had a problem till the bottom fell out. Now he's being forclosed on. At the time this started Bush got on T.V. and said I DON'T FEEL SORRY FOR THESE PEOPLE BECAUSE THEY BOUGHT WHAT THEY COULD NOT AFFORD. When he bought it he could afford it.He ticked a few of us off cause he cut rate's on some loads we use to haul. And some of those rates took us almost 3 years to get. but now we can't be mad at him, not that any of us can help him, He never said anything, So we try to understand. And buy cutting the rates he hurt himself when fuel kept going up.

The long and the short of all this is that there is an industry operating in America that does not have our best interest in mind. That industry is as we all know is the oil industry. The 700% rise in CRUDE OIL over the last seven years has pushed the price of gasoline, diesel, and heating oil has all but stopped America dead in it's tracks. There is something wrong when an industry, any industry is allowed to negatively effect an entire nation's economy. Dickey Cheney, and his secret meetings with the oil industry in 2001 has ended in a 250% cost of all fuels to date needed to drive this nation. Dickey has refused to allow the public to see the details of his meeting with these oil companies. The first signs of a conspiracy was the start of the rise in all fuels. The second was the ENRON scandal. The third is our troops in Iraq for no other season but to take control of the oil fields at the eventual will cost to "American Tax Payers" of 3.5 trillion dollars, the lives of over 4015 Americans, and the injury of over 30,000 of America's finest. And all to what end, the death of our nation?
The bush tax cuts made the filthy rich even filthier, while cities, and states had to raise taxes and fees to make up to the deficits caused by the cuts. So the filthy rich got richer, and the middle class takes it in the butt. Where is the U.S. Constitution does it say that only the working class will pay for the governments stupidity?! America's economy has been feeling the effects of the bush cuts for the last seven years. So what has America's working class received in exchange of the tax cuts ...... a super-sized pile of steaming platitudes and lies.
This is the time for all American's to come together and force our "Public Servants" to do the jobs they were hired to do. The jobs of Public Servants is not to go around covering up their mistakes by raising taxes and fees on the public, and to lower the standard of living for American.
WE NEED A NATIONAL STOP-WORK STRIKE for as long as it takes to get the attention of our corrupt poly-ticks.

well in all reality, those drivers are "volunteer's"....they volunteered their trucks to haul those loads and make a paycheck...
this is the way it is....drivers will "talk the talk" when they are at a truckstop, or shipper or reciever.............but they very rarely "walk the walk".....the attitude is, "i ain't got the time, someone else can do it for me"...........
as long as any driver has an "independant thread" in his body, he will do as he pleases to do, and that ain't going to be "going with the flow" of others....
and those drivers weren't stupid as you called them....they were smart in grabbing those loads your husband turned down and earned some working cash.
o/o's are crying that they are going broke.....but yet they drive in circles at the various state houses, or next (as some of you are saying) to DC...i can't see the sense in this....theya re crying about fuel they can no longer afford....they can't pay thier bills, they can't pay thier mortgages....yet they are spending money driving in circles....
this is what we need.....this stupid concept of burning up expensive fuel. this will all come to an end real soon.......o/o's will go bust...trucks up for sale...a new generation of truckers will arrive, better businessmen too in fact, that CAN pay the bills and make a go of it. we need to weed out the bad o/o's right now, and this is what's these guys are allowing to happen.

the man DID give a very good editorial, but that's all it was, an editorial, on a Fox news channel in Florida......i don't suspect too many people saw that, let alone the whole country....too bad.....i think people would have liked what he said. but it will fall on deaf ears.........as everyone has problems, NOT JUST TRUCKERS.........and by his editorial, he said many drivers wanted the fuel taxes to be rolled back till the economy picks up again........i'll bet you dollars to donuts, the very same o/o's that cannot pay thier bills now will gripe when the taxes go back up again....what will they do then, complain...??

a snail mail campaign, an e-mail campaign will get some attention, as the mail gets delivered to the office......
flood the offices with mail. make it so that they politicain cannot get into his/her office......

You know, if things were so good on your end with truck driving, I don't see how you have so much time to spend online dumping all over the ones trying to make a difference. And if this is so unimportant and useless why do you waste so much of your time reading and giving us your unwanted opinions. If you are not a part of the solution, then you are a part of the problem. Hey! ..... America cares ..... all Americans are suffering because of effects of fuel prices. Seniors are going without heating their home. people working in the travel services are lossing their jobs because people are not going to the beach, or the movies, or eating out, or lossing their homes, or, or, or. I don't know anyone who isn't frightened of what might come next. This nation is in deep shit Jack. The only people who don't care are a few insane oil company CEO's who don't give damn about you or your family.

i work different hours..........not the same hours each day or shift....you got a problem with that...?? i don't......and its cold outside, i can't do anything outside..........at work, i can logon to any website, i can even get around the keylogger my boss has......
my comments are taken as condescending, but i can assure you that i have been a trucker for 20 years now, and i have seen and heard the nonsense so many times it just ain't funny anymore....
your efforts are useless because this isn't going anywhere's. the guberment WILL not roll back taxes till the economy picks up again, because if they did, i'll bet you it will be nearly doubled when they raise them again, when the economy gets better....???
the o/o's cannot afford to run the trucks, so they now are going to take the bus (thanks for the update), so leaving the trucks at home, not earning any money, going even more broke, makes sense....??
bills still gotta get paid, don't they...?
