Truck is losing air backing under a trailer.

My truck loses air and drops down to 50 psi when I back under a loaded trailer and will not come back up when the idle is bumped up unless it is around 1,500 RPM.
I am thinking it is a leveling valve issue or compressor issue.
Any ideas on a cause or remedy?

I had a Volvo do that once. It was the leveling valve.

Try tapping on the valve body with a blunt object. If that makes it inflate, you'll know what to write up.

I thought that's what he's talking about.

What was happening to me is I'd hit the dump valve, back under the trailer, then the suspension would stay deflated when I reset the dump switch.

I had to crawl around under the axles to tap on the leveler valve a few times.

Wrote it up but since it functioned properly in the shop, it never got fixed.

So I just simply quit dumping the air. F*k it. Scrape that 5th wheel dry.

Once yer air drops off you oughta hear her leakin somewheres. If not Id suspect the compressor or what controls it

It's okay. We traded the Texan for a Swede. Problem solved. Well, The air problem any way.
Now the problem we have is the truck is a Swede.
