I'm willing to bet there was some inattentive driving going on here.

I'm traveling a good portion of I70 today and tomorrow and what I've noticed already today is that it seems to me to be way too small of an interstate for the volume of traffic it's carrying.

Add to that one or two stupid people and it doesn't take much to have a hell of a mess on your hands.

Be careful where you break down.

On an almost related note, people stopping on the shoulder any place they feel like it is a huge problem too.

Of all the dumb trends over the years I'd trade back people flashing high beams constantly over this stupidity.

If you think about it, the concept of driving is rather insane to begin with.

Driving face to face at 55 with a mere foot and a half margin of error. Driving side by side at 70, 75, 80 with the same. Less in construction...little to no shoulders.

Happens everyday I've come 2 "expect" it.

Yet some here give me Bullcrap pulling off on shoulder of on ramp.

Outta traffic and on ramps people ain't picked up the speed yet .

Even worse is those @$$hole who try to merge right back into freeway from the "Shoulder" from a Deadstop instead of picking up high range on the shoulder before merging.

Nope from a Deadstop and maybe Actually half of em might check the Mirrors 1st before pulling out

Once in a great while when the old bladder won't hold on for a ramp or a rest area I'll do it and get er done fast as I can.

If it gets to that point I do pinch it and look for as big a shoulder as I can get it done fast as possible pick up as much speed and look for the biggest opening to get back in. That of course is absolute last resort after a rest area and after going through an exit and hitting the ON ramp.

As for those mooks you see sitting on the shoulder eating a sandwich, yeah fuck those guys.
