Agreed on the hat technique. I get flies in trucks constantly being around farms all the time I think

I have noticed better fly swatting success in a house that’s not moving versus in a moving large car at 70 mph. :D
 
So this is new (at least to me). Took 65 through Tennessee, haven't been on that stretch of 65 in a VERY long time. I was elated to see that the stupid split speed limit is gone. Man does that make a difference on travel time through that state. When did that happen?
 
So, maybe some more seasoned drivers can help me out with this. I'm transitioning to a much smaller company. From 11k trucks to 200. I want to be in a small company for the family feel and lack of corporate babysitting. Well, at least to a point. Got a call today from one of the amazing folks in the office pushing my paperwork through. She's awesome and so helpful. But now I'm worried that folks are TOO close here. I like the familiar atmosphere, but I'm not looking to be part of a family that isn't family. So am I just being weird or is this a good thing I just need to get used to?

It depends on the company, I think. I’ve been at small companies where the owner would open up his home for the annual picnics, change a trailer tire outside in winter on his trailer to make the run, that type of thing. I’ve been at larger companies where you don’t even know the owners name, just show up, drive go home get paid.

I think it’s up to you where you fit in best. There’s downsides to working at too small of a company, when the owner and you butt heads. Sometimes it’s nicer to be more anonymous.

I got one of the flying assholes last night and one this morning. I can’t tell if there’s still a third one, I think he’s sleeping in. You wait I’ll get the stick in the fun hole and asshole will wake up and start his bullshit. :cautious:

While the picture shows you’re talking about flies. This convo could be taken way out of context.

Like way out....but they try to keep this a family board so I’ll leave it at that.

Gawd I hate those things. Yep just use my old cap too, it’s too darn dirty to wear. I wanna get one of those old times fly strips and hang it up. See how many it can catch. Lol,,,
