The freight slow down has officially hit

Not sure where all it will be felt, and how bad it will be felt, but it has arrived. West coast freight has seemed to suddenly slow down.

Slow enough that I was hesitant to book my load ti California. Bumped the rate enough to cover bouncing to Phoenix, which I ended up doing.

Phoenix isn’t horrible for dry vans yet, especially if you want to go on in to California, Utah, or the northwest. Quickly becoming a race to the bottom if you are determined to go East, though. I managed to break $3/mile to the Kansas City area. But only because I took a load that was already supposed to be picked up.

So, avoid th me west for a few weeks unless you are content to stay out there and run North/South for a while.

Not much around here for a new MC either. It's gonna get interesting.

I could run some stuff to Michigan or whatever if I had a sleeper or willingness to get hotels. But the local stuff is slim and not paying great.

Plan on about 6 weeks of sketchy freight. Most likely won’t be that long, but that is what’s typical on the spot market.

What’s weird is seeing the large amount of loads going to Canada, and with really good rates. Usually don’t see much of that, and usually cheap freight.

I see I finally have access to the Knift board for real. I saw a rate that's not awesome but better than Amazon but it's a live unload. It's similar to what I was getting off the brokers.

I tried to put in an offer but it errored saying I need an updated COI, which they literally just got a week ago. I clicked the Book Now button and it started to work but I don't want to do it for that if I can get a couple hundred more out of them.

Other loads are stupid like picking up a day early and sitting on them.

Glad I took my unicorn in January and came home till the week of 2/7 or 2/14.
