i suppose i was successful at swift from day 1 to until i left for my own reasons by avoiding the negativity. at swift and other companies, there is plenty of negativity to go around. lots of bullshit rumors brought on by stupid people, people who either are misinformed or just like spreading bullshit rumors just for shits & giggles, and then there are the overgrown babies who expect swift to hold their hand wherever they go. when they don't get their way, they throw a giant tantrum in the driver's lounge, looking like a giant fool in the process. if you want to subscribe to that type of nonsense. go right ahead. eventually all the negativity will corrupt you and you'll become bitter like the rest.
during the recruitment phase, i asked very little questions. i didn't ask too many because i wanted my personal expectations to be kept low, therefore limiting the potential for disappointment. i wasn't disappointed one bit. oh yeah, swift didn't put any negative marks on my DAC report, either. if you want to rock the boat. don't be surprised when you find something nasty on that blackmail file.
This is my thoughts also on the rumor part. It's just like all that political trash talk that comes around in the emails I receive. Nobody stops to check it out to see if it's really true. If it's especially negative about someone, they hit that forward button to everyone on their list. I HATE THAT!
I don't believe that any company could stay in business and have the largest trucking company and more drivers and trucks than most, if they did everything people say they do.
Negative thinking and talking, breeds negative actions.
