Well Folks, I'm new here and have been reading all of these posts and mostly negative comments about SWIFT. I will be the first to tell you, I don't know much about any of the trucking companies, but my son just finished Swift training in Millington, TN He called me everyday to report what all he had learned, the tough tests he had to take, or study for and how great everyone from Swift was. He had no complaints about any of them. His only complaint was that it was so much to learn in such a short period of time. He passed everything and is now in Ocala, Fl at their terminal taking the driving instructions. Once again, he has only had good things to say about the trainers and everyone he has had contact with at Swift.
After jamming a few gears on the first day of driving, he has mastered it and goes for his DMV test on Monday. He passed all driving skills today.
He is a very positive guy, with a lot of hard working traits in his background. I pray he gets a good mentor to drive with and a good DM when that time comes. Momma's prayers will hopefully keep him safe on the road and I know I will miss him when he's gone for weeks at a time.
He really researched the trucking pros and cons, before starting all of this and knows it isn't going to be easy. I think he has watched every video there is on Utube about trucking and loved that Ice Road Truckers show on TV.
I guess I just wanted to tell all of you out there what his experience has been so far with Swift. It's all been very good and I hope it stays that way over rthe years.
