I don't think the routing in that article is accurate. The Alaron Wampum is nowhere near those routes listed towards the end and there's zero reason to be on the turnpike when 80 goes almost the whole way.

Granted I'm not a super load route planner but those roads just aren't even anywhere close. Especially the turnpike.

Edit: the article says 322 east when it should be west. I was following it that way and jt make no sense. 322 west would if the idea is to avoid steep I80.

Still seems hella messy to take side and back roads to me though.

Well that tells me the bridges on 80 from the 111 to the 28 mile marker aren’t safe.

Pennsylvania makes no sense. They sent me down a road that says prohibited to 102" trailers over 28' and me with a 15 wide. We'd have been screwed if we hadn't stumbled into that cop that went ahead and shooed the 4 wheelers off the road. Same load also sent me right down through the middle of a festival we didn't know about.

I only had a 53' dry van 102" and I am on this road that I checked and re-checked to see if it was 102" wide prohibited, Nope, I was good to go but damn. I had to be partially in the oncoming lane to keep the trailer from scraping the rock cut.
I checked my route again when I got to where I was going and I should have been ok.

Seriously how fun would it be to bobtail that through a gate like Amazon with 19 year old guards who never see much more than a Cascadia or a Volvo, and then roll back out with a normal dry van.

For real PA is messed up.
I only had a 53' dry van 102" and I am on this road that I checked and re-checked to see if it was 102" wide prohibited, Nope, I was good to go but damn. I had to be partially in the oncoming lane to keep the trailer from scraping the rock cut.
I checked my route again when I got to where I was going and I should have been ok.

Same. We had cars in the ditch and I was whacking tree limbs and missing mailboxes by inches on either side. I had to straddle the yellow line and just send it.
