So, I'm 37, been driving for 5 years. Married, and working with a really good company. I'm out of Knoxville TN, and to quote my wife 'the rode is your wife. I'm just your mistress'

Local is exhausting. Or at least can be.
I did paving for a season a few years ago running a dump truck and floating their equipment and that wasn't so bad. The only reason I left is because the winter layoff was coming. This newest construction gig is pretty gravy as long as we stay busy enough. Swinging doors at warehouses doesn't appeal to me at all local or OTR.

I'm just in it for the glory.

Lol, that thread made my day. Love for real, I love my company, they really take care of the people and they get me pretty good miles. But I'm probably going to try and go local soon. Like McClain or Sysco or something. Although, if McClain don't get off their ass and start delivering, they going to run out of business. So maybe Sysco

McClain pays very well, but be prepared to run your nuggets off for them..

Hey, that's what I want. Also, you're doing something throughout the day. They unload their own freight, so that's a bit of exercise. And being home everyday, and not losing money sitting in traffic, win win win.
