Schneider Transport has put its Guelph, Ont., property for sale and informed associates it is closing its Canada-based operations. “Today, Jan. 14, 2022,

The title says "shutter Canadian operations" but the article says "Canadian BASED operations"
So I don't know if that means they will be sending American drivers to service Canadian customers or cease operating in Canada entirely. Or a third option of sending containers and hiring a third party trucking company like J.B. Hunt did after they pulled out of Canada.

I know for a fact a few years ago Schneider National pulled their dispatch from Guelph ON, and Guelph based drivers were dispatched out of Green Bay WI.
(Green Bay doesn't understand that it takes two hours to get across Toronto)

I feel bad for the drivers and O/O's that will be losing their job. Sure they will have no problem getting hired on elsewhere but it has to be a gut punch to find out your company is closing.

Ya there are a few drivers that I talk to and they have been with Schneider for years.
For some reason their can division had some of the more experienced drivers, I guess that would have to do with home time, They were all day cab drivers.

For the longest they wouldn't hire new CDL holders for intermodal. Then they relaxed it for regional. Then they got really desperate and opened local up to new drivers. But I think they closed it again because it bit them with damages.

I always waiver between impressed and depressed.

Longevity is impressive but not aspiring for more is depressing.
