That wasn’t lone mountain anymore. That was a used truck wholesaler called Vector. Lots still there. I dunno what happened to the trucks.

Someone determined that the river used to go down hook below eppley, then curve back up north to where the actual lake is and then turned back south before they’ve the big flood and then the revamping of all the levees cause the river to shift. I don’t know how much factor is to that I’m not a historian on the Missouri River. But that’s what I was always told growing up. So the compromise was we got a little patch of land that was called Carter Lake Iowa. And Omaha got to keep Eppley

It was a flood in 1879 that short-cutted that bend, and left the oxbow. Wiki has a good write up. It was a wild place at times.
