Reg3’s places to Eat in towns you may stop in.

Well here I am at the TA Hurricane in Teays Valley WV. And following the advice from @Steelersjunkie went to the fireside grill for lunch while pulling at 34 here. I had a darker beer that had an amazing flavor, waffle bites which essentially is a loaded waffle fry, and a prime rib sandwich with home made chips. The food was great the beer was cold and the staff was very friendly. Totally worth the block and a half walk from the TA.

Shot gun wedding beer! 👍 :rolllaugh:
The whole reason I chose it was the name. I said what do you got on tap? Guy starts the list bud light miller lite coors light(which is what I normally drink) shotgun wedding sweetwater 420. I says whoa buddy, did you say shotgun wedding? He says yep, it’s one of my favorite tap beers here.

I didn’t ask what kind of beer it was or anything I said make it a tall boy. It was very delicious. The pic is actually of my second glass.

I'm glad you liked it 😁 Can't beat the combo of killer food, cold beer, and a pretty amazing staff. There's another bar a couple blocks away, haven't ventured over there yet, no idea if they have food or not. I got the impression that all their meals are of the liquid variety. After a day like today, I'd be alright with that.

Tonight I come to you from Merle’s American Tavern in Peculiar, MO. Right next door to the flying J at exit 167 on I-49.

Typical sports bar setup inside. Most brews they have are American and they have a good well selection.View attachment 50232

For dinner I chose the surf n turf bites, aka catfish and sirloin. The sirloin was melt in your mouth good and the catfish wasn’t muddy at all. This place is amazing! Definitely will return.

Definitely recommend it! I give that a Texas sized 10-4
That place looks Haggard.

One of my favorites is Bottoms Up in Lebanon IN. Love the food and the staff, and know them all by name. It's great because it's so close to the Flying J. But it sucks that it's so close for exactly that reason.
I was there a couple weeks ago. The staff was friendly, food was decent but the didn’t have draft beer. If I wanted bottles or cans I’d buy it at the truck stop and drink in a lawn chair in the parking lot.

I've never understood why people will drink out of a bottle at a bar for $2.50 when they have the same thing on tap for $1.50 and you get a frosty mug straight out of the freezer.

:coocoo:

Unless it's one of those dive bars that serve you in a plastic cup. 😡

I hear what yer sayin', for sure. Some places don't have draft as an option. And sometimes when they do, the options aren't to my liking. People's tastes are what they are, everyone is different. If my draft options are nasty IPAs or Miller or Coors, I'm gonna go ahead and get a Bud bottle. Time out of the truck feeling like a human is too precious to care. Plus, I've had some draft beer that is nasty because you can tell they aren't following the health department guidelines on cleaning their lines. You can taste it. Can't always trust it, and that can make you sick. Happened to me once so I'm cautious.

I guess when you're on the road you're limited to what's within walking distance from truck parking.

If it wasn't for that limitation I'd just go to a different bar if they didn't have Budweiser on tap.

I've been meaning to switch to Miller products ever since foreigners bought An-however-the-f-you-spell-it Busch. But I just don't like Miller products. 😔

Think Uber. Think Lyft.
