I still drive a different truck every week. Most times I get into a truck that has no satellite radio. I bring my own. I have a thingy that’s pretty portable. Plugs into a power outlet.
I have no idea how anyone does this job without satellite radio, without being able to handle you phone and use things like Spotify.
make two trips to Minot once and see if you’re not having full conversations with yourself afterwards.
Probably also explains (somehow) the fantastic lack of charisma of many of these people.

I have an acquaintance whom I regret letting use my name on his application here. He’s endlessly on the phone. When he’s working he calls several times a day. I usually ignore it.
1- because of something happens and you’re on the phone, your chances of keeping your job, even if not at fault are slim.
2- because he talks the most off the wall random shit, that’s not work related, which is the only thing we have in common.
3- he makes poor excuses for things and is a malingerer, and I’ve never been able to tolerate those.
...and mostly because I’ve realized through the stiff cell phone policy here (which is not as stiff as some) that this is really not a very cell phone friendly job. Especially in and around large cities.
I guess some people do not understand that the solitude is a benefit.

In trucking I've just come to expect 4-wheelers to do stupid reckless stuff..
Even other Truck Drivers doing retarded stuff like the Dry Bulk hauler who cut across 2 Lanes of traffic to exit and came close hitting the exit sign ...
Or the @$$hole with a slower governed truck but lighter load will work so hard to keep passing ya on hills and mountains only to have to pass him again and again on flats ..yes I'm talking to "you" Mr. Prime Floral divisiin on 4O in Arizona last week
