Please help!

I'm stuck at the TA in Chico California. I'm fully loaded at 95,00lb with a scheduled delivery on 12-10-10.

My cooling fan doesn't turn on at all. I risked everything twice by overheating my truck THREE TIMES just to make it to a truck stop. I'm talking about 250 degrees and automatic shut off of the engine. I don't know what the problem could be and the guys at the shop have no idea what they're talking about. Anybody please..

If the auto shut off did it's job, you probably didn't do any serious damage. Give us more info on what engine, make/model/year of truck and I will see if I can think of anything. We have a few people on here that know a little about mechanics (more than me) and may be able to come up with some ideas.

I still need help..

It's a 2004 Volvo with a cumming 405 engine. Some one told me there's a way to keep the fan running on constant but no actual walk through. I'm counting on a quick fix till I get home.. I can't afford to wait on parts nor the ridiculous price of the road mechanics. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Definitely a call for Race. Lot of people don`t realize, there are some top notch mechanics here. But, you are at the mercy of a top notch mechanic. They should get paid for there knowledge. If your lucky, they might answer your question. Heck, If I had my own truck, I would mail them a $100.00 bill, and get there email or phone number, just in-case I ever needed some quick advise. But these mechanics, you have to talk to personally. Not only on this board, but any shop, get to know one of these guys.

I'm sorry, but I have never heard of a "cumming" engine before.

Now if your truck had a Cummins engine in it maybe I might be able to help.

probably because since his original post he has had enough time to idle the truck all the way home on the shoulder with his hazard lights going, and no danger of overheating it.
