succulents may do well. they require very little water or fertilizing, and can pretty much stay on a window sill in sun, all day long.
i gave one to my niece last year, she still has it, hardly ever waters it, (not that she forgets). and her cat never attempts to eat it.....maybe she once did, and found it was not of her liking.>????
