Oklahoma cameras WB 40

What do the first set of cameras on the passenger side take a picture of and what do the second set of cameras in front, above, take a picture of? I just got a pic taken on my right hand side & up above.

At a scale?

The scale I worked in Greenville would have been a side shot for MC or DOT numbers, and the up high frontal would have been for seat belt use.

No idea, never saw them checking speed. But I would say it was just recording your numbers and seat belt. Normally that would be shut off when closed here.

Maybe they just leave it running at night. Been awhile since I have been out there. They still allow parking when closed right? I wouldn't sweat it. They probably just forgot to shut it off. The ones here overwrite everything on the drive logging pictures unless someone manually locks them for a citation.

Not sure if truck parking is still available up there. Those scales are new to me I haven't been westbound 40 through OK since February of last year. I'll find out & get back with you tonight or tomorrow. We thank you much. These were taking pictures of the trucks that were still out on the road.
The right side picture was before the ramp exit and the above picture was about 50 yards past the entrance across the lanes of the interstate.

Huh? Never heard of that. I take it there was a flash to let you know it was taking pic?

Might be logging for an ifta audit??

Yup, Flashes both times. I'll call them tomorrow or if I get pulled in tomorrow for an insp. that would be a great time to ask them.

I called the Oklahoma Corporation Commission who is in charge of the scales Oklahoma DOT and State Police are not, they, just work there. The Oklahoma Corporation Commission referred me to the Motor Carrier Enforcement Department and they told me " The cameras on the side are taking pictures of everything the DOT, MC and IFTA they are reading ground pressure and the overhead camera takes a picture of license tag it has been time-stamped what time the truck comes by and the camera stays on regardless if the scales are closed, we do not track speed, or look at sealt belts, we look for Carrier compliance and if you did not come in when supposed to"

Indiana has them too on East Bound 70 just past the Illinois State line before Terre Houate

and this is why it's pointless to try and cheat your logs. Paper or otherwise.

all those systems are also tied together. And they share time and date stamps.

Wisconsin EB I90/94 scale south of Madison does this for sure as well as the WB scale coming into WI and up in the Menomonie area.

Wisconsin also does "ALOT" more Safety INSPECTIONS since they built those Fancy Service Bays on the NEWER Scalehouses

Lewiston Idaho tagged me out of service in early 2013 saying I was where I shouldn't be based on the time stamp of my over length permits and also the similar photo and timestamp from the scale on I 25 North of Sheridan Wyoming.

It was a pleasure getting out of it by showing the officers screwed up and the States computer clock was off by 2 hours in the main frame which was the officers premise for the false logs charge.
