Obama will ask Congress to approve Mexican trucking plan

like there isn't enough competition for cheap labor now! pretty soon we'll be paying to take loads! But, if the mexican trucks can pass a California DOT inspection, yeah, right! send a bunch through that scale, what is it, I-80 near nevada? But when their trucks without brakes or licenses(or insurance) gets turned around, those bald tires will be coming back in no time!

Just like everything else in this country, we as a people would have to vote with our dollars.

Why is their garbage on TV? Because we watch it and give it ratings.

Why do the papparazzi jump through hoops to get pictures of "famous" people? Because we buy the sh*ty magazine at the cash register (usually for toilet reading), or watch the "E" Shows on TV ... and give them high ratings.

Why do these companies push so hard to have mexican trucks bring us our sh*t? Because we still buy it. We've also painted ourselves into a corner with our food markets instead of farming and growing our own, because now they'll grow it somewhere else, and have it shipped to us ... and we have to eat.

My solution, I don't have a f**king idea. I think this is what they want; the masses to be overwhelmed and confused to the point of just giving up and not caring. If it wasn't for groups like OOIDA and places like this, I wouldn't know where to start looking.

Or just close the mountain (Grapvine or Donner) for a periods of time to everyone BUT mexican trucks, then let them have at it. If you can survive to the bottom, then you get DOT inspected.

The thing to do now is just like we said here before. Be on the phone and on email constantly letting your elected officials know how you feel about this issue and how they can be certain to not be getting your vote if they support this.

Until Mexico is putting up money and making a serious effort toward this program, the United States doesn't need to be lifting a finger toward it.

1. Global Currency? Since when? One only needs to look at the squabbling over the Euro Dollar to see a global currency will never happen.
2. HR 146 is nothing new. In fact, it extends the original law originally passed during the Bush Administration. The government has had the ability to declare lands as part of the National Forest system for decades.

If anything, I'd be worried more about a Congress that can take an existing point of law and just do away with it, as they did with the cross border trucking program. Rather than sitting down and fixing the problem, they completely ignored the consequences and just did away with it at the behest of the Unions. And we all know how good the unions have been for the Big 3, especially since GM is not looking at imminent bankruptcy.

While we may not agree with the cross border trucking program, we can't just sit down and do away with it because we don't agree with it. Funds should have been provided to Homeland Security to step up enforcement of our existing laws. THAT would have done more to wake Mexico up than anything else. But instead, Congress took an existing problem and made it worse all around.

CNN basically just posted something similar, so the fact that it is a Latin paper doesn't mean much. Pretty much everyone is jumping on board with this agenda.

And you can be sure they are quickly derailing the citizens thoughts away from safety, and toward the economy. They are being told that this move will do "great" things to save our economy.
