Guess I didn’t miss it by much because the debris was still on the road. Ambulance there, police there, but no wreckers. Wasn’t a big delay when I went through.



Yeah, I got nosy and took a pic. Mainly because the vehicle in front of me decided to stop right about where you see them in the pic. Not sure how well it shows up on the forum, but the top of the tractor is laying on the ground. Ambulance didn’t seem to be in a hurry to get anywhere.

And, it’s hot as hell here.

Windy, but not horribly windy. No idea what caused it. Hope the driver made it through, and thankfully it was just the one vehicle.

I'm also not understanding the roof coming off and looking like it's laying a good ways ahead of the tractor.

Only thing I can think of is he blew a steer and lost it... good possibility at that temperature

I wanted to look and see, but the front of the truck was pretty well hidden inside the trailer.

I find it rather disturbing that some people are wasting their roof fairings while others go without.

it’s something I think about as I see trucks flying by me. Seen it as hot as 113 today, cruising along at 62, while loaded trucks blew by me probably 80+ sometimes.

back in my produce days, we would always gather up in Barstow, sometimes Ontario if loading more south, and wait til dark to roll. Not just because it was cool to do it, but because the roads were “cool”. Tires are better now, but still don’t like pushing them on hot asphalt.

That's another reason I slowed down. I see fellow drivers hauling ass beside me, but then I also see them sitting waiting for a tire replacement. The productivity loss isn't as much as sitting for road service. I still get my loads done. It just takes me a little bit longer.
