Roasting venison here I usually rub it down with herbed butter and wrap tightly in tinfoil to keep all the juices in.

Roasting venison here I usually rub it down with herbed butter and wrap tightly in tinfoil to keep all the juices in.

You can also put a slab of beef fat or salt pork over it to actually roast it. Tin-foiling it is a steaming process.
