I took a cdl school in Newfoundland canada and the training is not being recognized in the rest of Canada,also I have had my cdl for a year and i have applied to 3800 jobs with no luck of employment. I have been told if I want to operate in Ontario Canada or any other provinces I would have to go back and take a 3 week program to upgrade my class 1 to be qualified to work, it also been told that my training is not recognized by employers, I’m told becuase I don’t have two years experience won’t be hired for insurance , i have reach out to distributors trying to get on shunt jobs to no avail agreed to team drive and get ditched at the last second so hows a fella suppose to get into the industry if no one wants you ?

Have you reached out to XTL they hire and train new drivers or at least they used to.
They have a yard in Toronto and in Montreal. Give them a ring a ding, see what they say.
Schneider National will train if you already have your ticket. They are out in Cambridge, ON.
I know you said you are from the rock but, the reality is there ain't much trucking on the rock.

I have reached out to all companies in Ontario and there safety committed people come back and say becuase of July 2017 ruling all new cdl holder have to ethier take a Ontário driving school program for 3 weeks at 100 hour or be exempt for holding there cdl for two years before you can transfer your equivalent class 1 licence to a class a licence https://www.ontario.ca/page/new-mandatory-training-class-drivers-licence-applicants they won’t take anyone out of province unless you held it. Two years or pay another 4500 basically for another road test ,pre t rip couple uncouple and a 90 degree back

Haven't lived out there since well before I started driving. I'm useless here unfortunately. X amount of experience should bypass the MELT horse shit but I don't think 1 year will cut it. A lot of places want 3 now because of the insurance Gestapo.

It’s all lies as far as I’m concerned spent $13,301 to be trained 13 weeks to end up on my face only to be told the school in compliance and the government here backed them saying they were in compliance with the provincial education presquist I’m sat here with no job and two useless diplomas siting on a while as a reminder of how dumb it was to invest in my self only to come out with no options

That is the same way I felt when I got out of trucking school. No one would hire me. I heard the same thing, "get some experience and come back". How could I get experience if no one would give me experience? That was 24 yrs ago so, some things remain the same.
Keep being persistent and follow up on any and all leads to a job. I gave you a few leads in my post above.

Christ almighty I've learned that's the truth in the last year or so. Lots of long long long haul waiting on this and that boat. Jobs to stay on the island.....well you know.

I went to one companey down town on the waterfront I won’t say what one but the have a huge boat come in 3 times a week. 13 times I applied the 14th time I walked right on up to the offices and she said name I told her she said my god son ur on file here 13 times well I said here number 14 u keep saying you need driver every week yet u throw me off

Once in a while, I follow Iwona Blecharczyk, Trucking Girl, on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=iwona blecharczyk trucking girl&epa=SEARCH_BOX ). She is a native of Poland. She was a school teacher there but became a trucker. A little more than a year ago she got a work permit to work in Canada -- I think the permit was for about a year -- after the permit expired, she returned to Poland and continues to drive there and in other European countries. Among other things, she hauled and still hauls those super-long (80-meter) windmill blades across borders thus must have had some sort of commercial driving license.

Before she was allowed to run for Prince (can't recall which yard was her home barn) she had to get a Canadian Class 1. That done, Prince turned her loose and I think she ran as far south as Texas. Later in that year (in winter) she worked for some lash-up hauling stuff to the diamond mines up by Yellowknife -- she became an ice road trucker -- like that's a big deal to Alaska skinners.

I assume that Prince didn't sign her for her looks or for the novelty of having a skinner who has driven in most of the countries of Europe. I'd bet that Prince hired her to drive; thus Prince could make a buck or two from her work. You might ask her how she did it. Every trucking lash-up I ever worked for (probably 30 different lash-ups as a permanent or casual driver -- I started in the 1960s) was more about the money than about novelty. Ask Iwona. She reads, writes, and speaks English quite competently and maybe she has like skills in French -- I wouldn't know.

what does that have to do with me? I was born here 33 years ago never had a problem being hire anywhere until I went got educated.
