Listen to your body...is as serious as a heart attack....

Hadn’t been feeling good lately. Shortness of breath, chest pain, numbness in the toes/feet, cold toes/feet, radiating arm pain, joint hurting coming and going ...

Sent an email to my cardiac care team....

“Hey, why don’t you come in and we’ll do an angiogram....”

Yop... these are the results...

This one shows the blockage on the right branch at the three-way split.

This shows it after they hit it with a balloon. Five years ago, they’d have put a stent in. Now they just expand it out with a medicated balloon.

Science is amazing what they are doing. 6 years ago, I had two stents put in. They just put a medicated balloon in this time.

Because I found this in a diagnostic situation, my return to work is the 10 days lifting restriction for the incision. It’s becoming more and more common to do the procedure through the wrist..

Had I actually had a heart attack like in 2015, I would have been down for 8-weeks and had to complete cardiac rehab. If they’d have done open heart surgery for bypass, then 12-weeks down by fmcsa medical requirements.

As I had my first issues at 47, this isn’t so much a lifestyle or habit issue. So this doesn’t totally rule out those greasy Truckstop cheese burgers. It’s due to genetics more than everything else. Yes, one still has to be mindful, but there’s not much I, or anyone else, can do when those issues are handed down to you.

Good luck hope you can do some fishing.
got rid of the boat on Monday. Selling it to take advantage of a favorable market this spring so I can get the next generation hull in the Pro-Tiller. I have always had Tillers and this was my first console boat. I hated it.

Glad you listened to your body. Most folks blow it off as, "oh my body is just changing because I'm getting older".

11 years ago, my husband had 2 heart attacks in 4 days. He was unaware of the first one because he never thought in a million years he had heart problems. He didn't have the textbook warning signs. Instead, he had ear ringing, a sore lower back and sore hands. He could barely hold onto something in his hand because it was so weak. He attributed the symptoms to all the years he's worked at his job around noisy machinery and spot welding steel coil splices for the presses he ran. Long story short, he ultimately had 2 stents put in a major artery because it was 99% blocked. All those symptoms stopped immediately after his surgery. He was and still is a very fit man, so the news of heart attacks was a shock to all who know him. Same as in your case, bad genetics. No one else in his family history had heart problems either. He's lucky to be alive today because he finally listened to his wife & went to the emergency room. He had his 2nd heart attack on the way to the hospital. So yes, listen to your bodies everyone. We're all here on borrowed time, so take care of your health because none of us know when our last day will be.
