Let’s argue about MPG, Wages, etc

That's just one of the dozens of variable that come into play. Every operation is different. I can count in one hand how many times I had to worry about the 70 hour rule this year.
As if the dozen or so of use arguing the point make up the 3.2 million truckers out here.

I specifically said those of us running recap.

And your applying it to daycab.

So I want to resurrect this since fuel economy is always good to discuss.

I have no aero whatsoever on my truck (no roof fairing, no sides, no skirts, bumper 10 feet off the ground, etc) and 62mph tachs 1050 RPM. That's the minimum before it'll be downshifting every time it finds a grade. When I'm empty or super light (10k or less in the box) I use that speed because it still has enough shit to stay moving even on small hills. I get in the mid to high 6s when the trips are long enough.

When I have a decent load I up it to 65mph because it tachs about 1150-ish so it has a little further to drop before it loses the power band. I get high 5s low 6s at best, but usually mid 5s.

This is an automatic that I don't manually override very often. Almost never actually.

Also I pull rail boxes and a good 95% of XPO chassis are still on bias ply tires.

The place I bought the truck from has their own fuel pumps and I found out yesterday from the shop (don't know if it's true) that they have pure diesel, not bio. They also don't winter treat it.

I won't be able to use my comdata to pay for it but the pump price isn't too far off what I pay at the megas after discount. So I'm going to try it before we get a cold snap and see what happens.

It's right off the interstate and I pass it almost every day, so it might be my go-to especially with my own authority when I wouldn't have XPO's fuel card anyway.

go buy a bottle of windex.

Spray the entire air induction system down and look for boost leaks.

change the air dryer cartridge and if you haven't, the AHI module.

depending on the miles you have, you may even want to just replace the NOx sensors now too.

Get the SST gasket for the DEF injector, (Replace the DEF filter too). You can use a Fiber optic camera then to inspect the tube between the DPF and the SCR box to see if it's blocked with Crystalized DEF.

Then it will also depend on your tires. Get some Goodyear LHD or Michelin X-line Energy D tires.

post a picture of the tube between the Turbo and the CAC if you get a chance. I'm curious if you still have the compression clamps or have them been replaced since.

Take a picture too of the tailpipe. Be interesting to see the color of it., bare metal, black or white.

There's nothing wrong with my truck. I'm above fleet average.

I'm not OTR with a curb sniffer and a sleeper tucked up against the front of the van.
