When I came home I parked my truck at the small truck stop here in town. It's actually a really nice place. I can walk home from there. I can't walk home from the garage where I park my truck. I came back Thursday. So Friday early morning I got in my car and went to the garage and of course my parking spot had stuff in it. That's the norm. That's why I park at the truck stop when I come home or call ahead.
I brought my truck to the garage yesterday and parked it for the last time. My mechanic almost immediately brought out an air hose, fittings, tools, gauges and tools. Lifted the hood and disconnected the air line from the compressor. I've been complaining about not building air up fast enough and leaking air. I was like WTF are you doing, I'm done!!! He just said he was curious. Ya, for 3 hours! It was so bad when I got home I couldn't build more the 80 pounds.
There's a steel braided line from the compressor and turns into a rubber line that goes to the air dryer. He hooked is massive air line to the steel line. He works on large construction equipment also so needs a lot of volume and 170psi. That would NOT air up the truck!!!! The rubber line was pissing air all over the place.
At this point I'm not sure what he has in mind other then he mentioned he may want the truck and trailer. Why, I have no idea. The trailer he said he wants for storage???? It's a flatbed numbnuts.
So I'm sure when I come home from work today half the truck will be torn apart. I see prices all over the place for my truck and trailer on TruckPaper. I'll probably let the whole package go for around $25,000. I think it has maybe 300,000 before it needs another in frame or out of frame. It's 1.4 million and had an inframe at 900,000.
Runs and drives like a top though. Uses oil and blow by of course, it's a Detroit.
Had to go out and buy new clothes this week. Dockers pants, new shirts and shoes. Going to hurt not wearing jeans anymore. I'm suppose to wear a lab coat at work but always refused. The guys wear the long ones, the girls wear the short ones. I wore the short one but they made fun of me.
So it will be right into the fire this morning with no ramp up. Went through this before when they asked me to come back to help out for a month. That lasted a year before I had to quit again. I'll probably lose my voice today from having to talk to everyone.

No, I'm done with my own truck and trailer. Maybe not driving. It's like God says, how much does he have in his bank account? Now break something and make it so.
I applied many months ago to FedEx and the U.S. mail. They are private contractors who haul the freight but it's FedEx and the mail who approve you. FedEx was almost 3 weeks to get approved. Heavy background check, references, credit and so on. I also looked into getting my school bus endorsement but that requires a school bus certificate and you can only get that if you already work for the school system. You can't get approved ahead of time which is weird.

Lol....No kidding. The only reason I looked into it was on a Saturday they needed someone to drive the football team bus. I can drive the DPW plow truck but I was too chicken when they asked once during a storm.

I wanted to go bad a few years back but it just didn't work out.
