i have a 96 freightliner that im removung the bed area

hey guys I'm new and I need help I'm removing the bead part of my truck and I Needed to know if any of you guys knew if I could buy like a plate or something I can use to cover the back hole that's left. its like the shape of a fat bottom and a skinny top, any ideas?

I know kits are available to remove the sleeper on Peterbilt 379's. Do a web search for "Sleeper Removal Kits".

One other thing. Removal of the sleeper is much more involved that simply removing the sleeper and covering the hole. The sleeper holds up the back end of the cab, so the rear mount needs to be moved to the back of the newly created daycab. Another consideration is the exhaust stacks. The mounts and bracing will require modification.

this one has a rubber like solution holding the sleeper and daycab, the mufflers are not connected to the sleeper just the day cab. ill upload a picture, its a really simple thing

Like I said, the back part of the cab is supported by the mount that holds up the rear of the sleeper.

The truck is a '96, it probably had a solid mounted cab Racer, or at least it's own mounts. If it didn't, he will notice I am sure when he removes the boot between the sleeper and cab.

I haven't paid attention well enough over the years to know when airbags under just about everything became the standard. Like today, just about every truck cab sits on rubber biscuits at the cowl and airbags at the back, even daycabs.
