Pulling a reefer means I've been in a lot of places in the Boston metro area. About 10 years ago they were doing major construction in the downtown area on I90 - it was shutdown about a mile from I93, and the detour signs petered out soon after getting in that warren of little tiny streets. Fun times!

Lots of shippers along the I495 corridor aren't too bad. The Chelsea Market downtown is a pain to get into and out of. The big problem is parking.

That scene in "The Avenger" (Denzel Washington,) where the snot gets beaten out of an Irish business owner by Russian bad guy "Teddy?" It was filmed at a location just off of I93 north of downtown before you take the exit to get into Chelsea Market.

I've done Long Island a few times - traffic totally sucks, not quite as bad as LA though. I quote $1000.00 to go into da city now on top of linehaul. I've been getting it too.
I been to LA, I been to Long Beach, the traffic in my opinion wasn’t that bad. Never had a problem with a merge either. 4 blinks and there was a hole for me to slide into. East coast, good luck! Especially NYC or Newark, you gotta practically run someone over to make a lane change happen in traffic.

You ain't been out there since Hannibal came over the Mountains north of Rome, have ya?

I'm kind of digging the 9 to 11 hours and done. That running out your clock bumping docks is for the birds.

I once dragged a big green machine and a pilot car to a **** hole about 48 miles from downtown Boston and it did in fact suck......A LOT. I could imagine going right in wouldn't be better.

MA, NJ and PA that kind of stuff I can manage for the most part but definitely plan to get in and out same day kind of places. I don't think I would ever wanna find myself in NYC in a four wheeler much less a truck.

NO...night time going into Boston is NOT any better..

many times, they shut down streets for construction, and THERE ARE NO warnings, until you are there....

too many times now in my 7 years going to my stops, i have had to climb up and drive on traffic islands. there are NO turnarounds or go arounds in Boston.....and the cops don't really know where to send you either......

every time i am out sick, of have my vacation, my fill-in driver kisses the ground i walk on, when i return to work...lol

I would not kiss anything that you're associated with.

😕

All this talk about traffic. The 401 corridor in the GTA is the #1 busiest in North America It is also the widest. I am not sure how many lanes I am going to guess 16, 8 lanes in each direction. Probably why
@Skateboard puller and @RDBG hate Toronto but they know what I am talking about.

i think the Houston area has just as wide if not wider highway. i seem to recall back in the late 1980's when i was down there, they were just staring that hugh project.

i don;t think Texas is anything like Connecticut, so that project must be done by now....lol

Yes but it is not as congested. The 402 in the GTA is the busiest in North America.

There’s constantly deadly accidents, turning already heavy traffic, into gridlock. Even if the accident is eastbound, westbound traffic slows to look at the accident.

East of Cobourg or west of London when it’s two lanes wide is very frustrating to driving, one slow driver in the left lane and you’re stuck. I can’t stand I81 for that reason, I95 isn’t much better.

The 401 sucks

Good thing they built the 407 :cautious:
