I have come to the definite conclusion that my trucking can only go forward as an O/O...so Im starting to put funds aside to buy a truck. Right now Im running containers out of the port in Philly, and will probably do the same out of Baltimore.

How do I find a good truck in the 20-25K range?

You've been driving long enough to know if this is what you want` to do or not.Good luck to ya sweety.I would suggest asking a small company where they get their trks.Or maybe get a trks for sale newspaper at a trk stop or look on a trkstop bill board.Whenever i'm looking for a shop on their billboard I always see someone selling a trk.

Thanks Pj. It will be a while til I can get my monies set aside. I dont want to get into this with debt.

I'll ask my boss what he does.Not one of his trk are new as you know.Him being cheap,LOL he won't spend alot on trks or trls.

JMAN when I said cheap I was'nt referring to buy trk.I just wanted to make sure to clear that up.But i'll ask Jason tomorrow.

I was laughed at once when I had the idea to buy a truck, but continue driving a company truck until my own was paid for. No insurance, no fuel, permits, plates, taxes on this and that and whatever else,... maintenance, etc. I just wanted to buy it and park it. Get it paid for and THEN put it in service.

I wasn't talking about a new truck though. I wanted to get one built before 2003 and have it rebuilt. I think a rebuilt < 2003 model year, if done right and gone over with a fine tooth comb, would be better than a new truck just because it won't have all that global warming hippie kum-ba-yah tree-hugging bull**** on it that accomplishes nothing but causing problems and wasting fuel.
