Fuel price insanity: and NASTC

Get unloaded this morning, and bounce over to the T/A in Bloomington to start my 34. Check the fuel price on the sign. $5.69. Check my NASTC app, $6.21!

And tomorrow it goes up to $6.28!

Screw that, I can get it 75 cents per gallon cheaper at the crappy Pilot down the street. That’s $125 dollars difference in my fill up almost.

Later this morning, got an email from NASTC. Not responding to my concern about the fuel price, but they sent out a blast to everyone letting them know that it’s against the rules to have any other discount cards if you use theirs, and to let them know if anyone is telling you different to try to give you a fuel card.

For them to send out a message like this, they must be filling the pain of the fuel prices as well, which I understand, but their price should never be above pump price, and definitely not over 50 cents higher.

And a quick follow up.

Spoke with NASTC and they assured me that we would never actually be charged more than pump price.

Also, since I have both a Loves and Pilot card, they said that wasn’t a problem either so long as I was buying the bulk of my fuel on the NASTC network.

I just go to Sheetz or Rutter's anymore unless I need DEF. Seems to be better quality fuel and the lines are shorter or non-existent. It's worth paying extra.

Glad I don’t have to deal with this shit anymore .

Never was a big fan of that yahoo (David Owen) to begin with.

I worked afew places with NATSC Fuel Card..

What I loved about it is Pee-Lot & Loves didn't even take NATSC card.

I go to those little Back Roads Country Places that usually had a real restaurant and even find a parking spot after dark and hardly ever any waiting in the Fuel Line..

Most NATSC Places were AM-BEST or ROADYS joints and you'll want a CENEX Rewards Card too

And you can probably get it another 20/30 cents cheaper at one of those No Name Truckstops..

Pee-Lot and Loves even TA/Petro always have significantly Higher Pump Prices than Smaller Independents because they got more than enough "Mega Carrier" Account Buisness they couldn't care less..

Now in your 4-Wheeler it's different story as the Big Chain Truckstops tend to have Lower Gas Prices than Smaller stations
