Food police raid Missouri dairy farm

sadly i grew up drinking pasturized whole milk and 2%. 1% and skim is like nasty to me. We did however have a local farm when I lived in the Denver area drop off a few bottles of fresh cold dairy milk ever morning for awhile.
This kind of topic just goes to show that the gov. wants us to become unhealthy so they can keep us paying money into the health industry for stuff we dont need. Not to mention to keep us sick more than folks were way back when say soon after the WWII

Pretty soon, parents are going to be arrested and their children placed in state custody because Junior's brown-bag lunch has contraband PBnJ sandwiches and Gummi Bears in it.

And to think...when I was in school, CPS was worried about minor things like drug houses, abuse and neglect. Go figure.

Did you know that 'fresh' eggs from your local grocer are AT LEAST 6 weeks old?

I used Egglands Best eggs once when I had my little apartment during the PA project we did. The farmers they use must feed their chickens some sort of alien steroid hormone or kryptonite for my lower intestine because I swear to my dying day Egglands Best eggs made me fart worse then anything in history.

The government doesn't want people to be able to take care of themselves. They want everyone to be dependent on government-controlled suppliers. It's the same reason they were talking about making it illegal to grow your own tomatoes in your garden a while back.

People who are capable of taking care of themselves without the government's help, scares the government. That Janet Napoleon bitch has even labeled homesteaders as "potential terrorists" in a memo she sent out to law enforcement agencies a couple years ago.

That's all it is.

It has nothing at all to do with food safety.

Gov't don't wanna take care of the people Duck... Big Business wants Gov't to take care of the people so they can lobby for mandates for use of their products.

I would want someone to look at these major greedy food corporations, Cant trust them. When it comes to the small farmer, If they want to sell some corn or eggs or cheese or whatnot by the road well, I am stopping and getting some.

Lot's of small farmers, Especially when you get into Amish country sell fresh eggs, meat, produce. Best you can buy. I have only seen the Government clamp down on fresh milk.

I worked with an Italian guy and he would go to farm and get fresh milk and make Mozzarella cheese from it. Like a good dealer he gave me my first sample free and then I was hooked!lol

every time he would make it I would buy it from him. A good 2 lbs of home made mozzarella for the cost of ingrediants. An offer I couldn't refuse.

And then there are people who need the government to tell them how to live and they vote that way.

Helicopter parents are creating a new group of people needing Government direction.

As far as six weeks between the farm and the store, I'll wager it's a lot shorter than that. I bring eggs to the DC straight from the chickens' butts...even have to wait for more to be laid sometimes....and I highly doubt WalMart is going to "sit" on a shipment of eggs for six weeks before sendingthem out to the stores.

Oh...and Eggland's Best comes from the same farm as the regular brand...same farm as "free-range" eggs...same farm as brown eggs.

Eggs have a short shelf life, six weeks from farm to store? Maybe six days at worse.
If I was a worry wort I'd be more concerned in what there feeding the chickens that make them egg laying machines. From my tanker days of haulin growth hormones to chicken farms makes me wonder how much of that stuff is in the meat. One farmer told me that if the bone had a blueish streak in them they were fed a lot of growth hormone steroids.

Good to know! this information will make crop dusting in Wal mart and the people that **** me off there better.

Farm eggs will keep 6 months or more if they aren't washed and either refrigerated or stored in lard.

Even factory farm eggs will keep for weeks n weeks in the fridge.

I have been to a few egg farms. the conditions are disgusting. Ya I still eat the eggs from the grocery store once I get the visuals out of my head and the smell.

Never look behind the kitchen at the restaurant

And Never meet your hero's

Both may leave you sick and disappointed.

In Germany, eggs are not refrigerated in the stores. I did a lot of my shopping at the Continent, a huge grocery store up the hill from where I lived in Lengfeld. I bought eggs there all the time, never at the Commissary on base. Never got sick from them. I bought my fresh vegetables there, too...still dirty from the field. It was never a problem. Just washed them off when I got home.

Ditto.
And as if we had a clue about a fraction of it.
Just last weekend I picked up some frozen catfish fillets.
I knew it would be farm raised but, oh well.
It was labeled 'Product of Vietnam.

ARE YOU ****TING ME!!!!????
VIET F ing NAM???
Are we in such a state that we need fish that is raised, processed, frozen and shipped halfway around the world??!

'Product of USA' farm raised catfish was an upgrade...
and only about 5% higher cost.
Gimmee a freakin' break. :sob:

I like catfish. The first fish I ever caught was a catfish. I was only about 5 years old, and that catfish was almost as big as me. I got poked by one of the spines on the pectoral fins. I think it injected the "I'm gonna need to eat catfish for the rest of my life" juice into me.

Catfish from VietNam?

Sacrilege!

Can you say... P.E.T.A. ?

Yes I can.

People Eating Tasty Animals.

There.

I said it.

If I was a worry wort I'd be more concerned in what there feeding the chickens that make them egg laying machines.

We should all be concerned about what goes into the animals and vegetables that wind up on our tables. The factory farming that produces beef, pork and poultry uses medicated and hormone fortified feed to raise the animals as quickly as possible and to produce the highest yield in the shortest time.

Chickens used to produce eggs are kept in small cages. The feed has drugs to sedate the birds so they don't go nuts, drugs to keep disease down, drugs to make the birds lay more eggs.

And that **** is passed right through to the eggs.

Chickens raised to produce meat are raised in sheds. The feed has drugs to sedate them so they don't peck each other to death, drugs to keep disease down, and drugs to make them grow bigger and faster.

And that **** is in the meat that you buy in the store.

Beef cattle are fed feed that has drugs to keep disease down, drugs to make them grow faster and bigger.

And that **** is in the meat that you buy in the store.

Dairy cattle are fed feed that has drugs to keep disease down, and drugs to make them produce more milk.

And that **** is in the milk that you buy in the store.

Hogs are fed feed that has drugs to keep disease down, drugs to make them grow faster and bigger.

And that **** is in the meat that you buy in the store.

Same for vegetables. Companies like Monsanto produce seed that grows crops which will not produce viable seeds, so the farmers are forced to buy from them. The seed stock is genetically engineered to not be affected by RoundUp weed killer, so the farmers can have crop dusters spray the fields for weeds without killing the crop.

If farmers are caught trying to grow seed crops then they are forced out of business by the major seed companies like Monsanto.

And everything that goes into the animals and crops to get the "perfect" factory results winds up in the meat and produce that you put on your table and into your body.

Better living through chemistry.

Right.
