Just joined the forum after bumping into this thread. I bought a truck a few months ago(2005 FL with Detroit 6014L 10spd autoshift) that had/has the exact same problems outlined in this thread and virtually everything has been changed short of a new TCU. Clutch, X/Y shifter, all sensors, all harnesses. Last word from Eaton was that "maybe" a new TCU would fix it. Gave up on FL dealer and Eaton and decided to just rip it out and put in a manual 10 or 13spd to be done with it. But, after all that work, it got better and would only act up after 3 or 4 hours on the road. I would then go to manual(paddle) shifting and it would only occasionally do the throttle blip thing in 10th. Manually shifting seemed to reduce the problems but that could have been coincidental. The truck never ever did any of this until it had been on the road for at least an hour. Almost seemed like it was heat related and I always suspected a bad ground somewhere. About the bad EGR. The previous owner had the EGR delete/tune a couple of years ago so that cannot be it but are there any other electrical connections related to the EGR or is it all mechanical routing gas back into the intake? I am reluctant to spend money on the manual conversion when I might be just one little fix away from the solution. Sure seems like Eaton could have figured this mess out long ago. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 05 387 with a 10 speed eaton auto shift tranny sometime feels like it goes in and out of gear indicator light blinks like a miss sometimes acts up then may go 200 miles perfectly just pulled it out of shop no codes replaced spend sensor clutch is good so is 9 and 10th gears only acts up it 10th put it in 9th works fine anyone have this problem don't want to throw parts at it only thing is harness or ecm just want to be sure before I change them
Just replaced mine, with a result of new tranny, same problem. They are junk, Here's why! Age brother, age.

Did you got fixed ..?? And what did you replace .. transmission computer or the main computer
An update on my problems with the 2005 junk Eaton 10 spd. Two long trips and the same event sequence of events of quick reshifts in and out of 10th after about two hours on the road, then more frequent 10th gear studders, then speedo drops to 0, fault light in 10th and then eventually total lockup stuck in 10th. 4 times, like clock work, if locked in 10th after 4 hours of running. Using manual mode seemed to delay the lock up to some degree. After the truck cooled down, or after pulling battery cables and letting TCU reset, or clearing the multiple codes with OBD II, it would crank up and run just fine for a period of time and then start the Eaton Crap all overa gain. The original owner sent me his repair records and discovered that the truck had been worked on by FL dealers all over the country over the last two years and every single part had been changed on the trans including a new clutch. TCU, XY shifter, every harness and every sensor. He had also pulled and cleaned every connector and Pos and neg cables. After seeing that all efforts had failed, I now have it at a shop in Dallas to convert the junk to a conventional 10 speed manual. ~10 K was spent over the years and the problem was never resolved. These Eatons autoshifts are a nightmare and problems like this are fairly common. But, I am done with it! Even the Eaton factory does not know how to fix their own transmissions. My guess is that Eaton no longer cares. Out of warranty, no longer their problem! So my advice is, do not toss money at it if you are having serious problems. Convert it to manual and end the nightmare!

My truck is in a shop right now getting clutch replaced. Since I don't have two days to wait I got me a rental. It is an autocrap don't like it much.
