Julian's brother should be reimbursed first. He's on a fixed income, yet managed to foot fully half the bill to get that truck moved. I can go out and earn more money. He's disabled and limited on what he can earn before his benefits are stripped.
Your humility is refreshing but.... and don't think for a second I'm being crass or indifferent to the family... they gotta truck for sale.
You went above and beyond!
I was considering your post on this while doing my usual 730+ mile daily run from CO to .... ugh God help me.... Williams, IA .... and I had the most beautiful things to say about you and @
Duck and @
Tim and @
blackw900 (k... maybe not so beautiful for him)...
.... but I forgot them.
For me, it was a privilege to lend a hand because I could. Many here likely would have done the same had the opportunity been convenient.
Sad part is ... Helping is expensive these days.
This industry, the one we all do, driving around the country, pretending to be America's last cowboys and cowgirls ain't terribly conducive to aiding those in need if they are on the opposite side of the world.
This is not over... we need to keep this alive. Companies that profit from our chosen occupation, the one that has us sacrifice daily... have a responsibility to those who pull their wagons and loads! Julian made the ultimate sacrifice, the one we all dread and know how real it can be.
Dead is Dead. Surviving means having to clean up the mess (so to speak)... I look at my family and hope good hearted people like you, Duck, Tim, B-Dub... will be there for them if I should happen to meet the same fate as your dear friend Julian did.
RIP now Julian.
