Cutting the cord

I got a Kindle FireTV stick and found myself barely using it. The content just wasn't compelling. Yeah it has some stuff but it's like you're forcing yourself to find something for the sake of using it.

So I basically cancelled my renewal of Prime for next year. The shipping and music were the only two things I used but shopping less saves money and Google music is free with ads just like Pandora and others.

I have a two year payoff plan for both vehicles so if I can cut some of these little things to help, then heck yeah I'm gonna.

that's what i'll do..wait.

i got a 32" sony bravia 1080i, got it at sears for like $700.
that sony will more than likely out live you:D. i remeber the old sony wegas when there was no flat screens being made the old crt sets. the son'y were always heavy as hell and bullet proof. and they had the best picture at the time

i just now checked the date code on the back, December 2008

but i cannot recall when i bought it. i no longer have the sales slip

might be free over the air if you have a roof top antenna, and they continue to broadcast that way. otherwise, it might be a bundled package from your FiOS or cable or satellite provider..
heck 1080p wasn't widely adopted either like 1080i is. the problem with 4k is that it takes about 4X more storage space per minute of footage than standard HD. in addition to requiring the purchase of hundreds of thousands of dollars in hardware for the broadcasters and then to convert it to transmitting would require millions of $$$ in upgrades another issue is space such as bandwith on cable and satellite providers if they went full 4k they would crash lol as well as in media productions. i am just happy that some baseball and football games are being broadcast in 4k not many but a few are:)

i had a Hitachi 27" tv, in fact, tossed it out last year..

took 2 of us to carry it down 2 flights of stairs, using a 2 wheeler in fact.

it was the old style cathray(??) tube tv.
i had a 19 inch hitachi and i sold it years ago it took one person to move it though. for the time the picture on em was amazing

i went with the Hitachi over other brands specifically for the 10 year warranty on parts..

i only replaced it cuz it was like 15 years old, and the picture was not as sharp as the 1080i.

i also needed and got the "converter" that was free from the feds, to convert the new digital signals to analog? something like that.

I had an LG Plasma flat screen and that thing was a POS! POS I tell ya, The damned thing would heat up and then turn itself off and back on over and over.
Never again will I ever buy anything LG. I had an LG phone and it was a POS! I had an LG A/C unit and it was a POS. I knew I shouldn't have bought the t.v. but I did and as stated above it was a POS and a potential fire hazard.

i cannot recall how or where LG started.

i do know that at one time, we had appliances made by " Goldstar", and they'd be the biggest POS around, and got bought up by some other company,.

well wouldn't you know it...read this....!!!!

i had a student at my school, that was a sears appliance repairman. he wanted out of that.

he himself told me to STAY AWAY from LG.......
