Sinister

pari animositate
Remember that guy that came barreling down the Front Range and crashed into everyone in Denver?

They sentenced him to over 100 years.

That seems a bit extreme to me for a dumb 25 yr old kid.

I say let him out at 70 yrs old if he makes it that long with a lifetime driving ban.

Being a professional CDL holder Carry’s a heightened level of responsibility? Seriously?

4 weeks of CDL school and you are a CDL holder. No school if you can pass the driving test and have access to a truck, at least until the new training requirements.

This was a bad screw up, no doubt. But, if screwing up as a truck driver can bring about a sentence like this, compared to the sentences people get for purposely killing someone, it appears to me that we are at about 5% of what our pay should be since we are such important highly trained professionals.

This is a bullshit sentence

i think it was just and fitting.

he by-passed escape ramps.

he killed several people

this is what happens when someone is negligent in their duties.

It’s not just and fitting when people intentionally murder people and get a fraction of the sentence.

It’s not just and fitting when someone drive like an idiot in their personal vehicle and kills others, only to get nothing more than probation.

the judge went by the guide lines. in other words, the judge followed the law.

something the dumbass steering wheel holder should have done as well.

District Court Judge Bruce Jones told Aguilera-Mederos that “if I had the discretion it would not be my sentence,” but also said that he felt compelled to issue the stiff prison term due to mandatory minimum sentencing standards in Colorado.

case closed, take the convict away, and buh-bye.

No thoughts on "mandatory minimum sentencing" or did that part escape you?

This shits gotta stop at some point or anyone whose ever scuffed a curb will end up on death row.

He would have gotten a lesser sentence if he'd killed those 4 people intentionally with a knife or a gun.
Better than the opposite. "New Canadian" blows 5 stop signs kills 16 people on a bus I forget how many injured and gets slapped on the pee pee......8 years.

The impression I got was that the judge didn't really agree with the sentence.

yeah, i know.

but he "felt compelled" to go to the max.

i got what you said......

but i agree with the judge, that there are times like in this instance, the hammer has to be lowered on some of those steering wheel holders.
