Color of red meat may cause cancer‏

I'm just going to do a shot of some food coloring before I eat dinner....

Won't help Doc....

You need to let the meat sit out for a period of time until it turns from Red to Green, then you may cook it and eat it with no worries. Everybody knows, Red means stop, Green means go. This philosophy now can work for not only traffic, but for your food consumption.

Dunno whether you're serious or funning but I have it on good authority [from before I remember] that dry-aged steaks which had to have about a quarter-inch of mold scraped off before grilling were to die for. The most expensive & savory steak on the market back in the heyday of venues like the Savoy Grill and the Muehlbach Hotel in KC.

And FWIW, I don't recall any of those stories mentioning E coli, etc.

OH YA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly the best steak you will get and call me crazy, But the best is the steak that has lost that red colour:thefinger:. They are usually on sale because no one will buy them. They are not as pretty and are probably going bad soon.
They are perfectly fine to eat if you cook them right away. They taste better and cost you about half the money.
